Gaara (我爱罗, "Demon Who Loves Only Himself") is originally introduced as an antagonist in the Naruto anime. As the One-Tail's jinchuriki (Shukaku), Gaara earned the nickname "Gaara the Desert" (砂瀑の我愛羅, "Sabaku no Gaara"). In the second part, he already appears as the Fifth Kazekage (by the way, literally “Shadow of the Wind”).
Gaara is the son of the Fourth Kazekage, and the younger brother of Temari and Kankuro. Even before the boy was born, his father ordered Chiyo to imprison Shukaku in his son, as he hoped that this would help Sunagakure gain the ultimate weapon. At the same time, Gaara's mother, Karura, died. Before her death, she cursed Sunagakure, hoping that her son would avenge her.
Because of Shukaku's power, people hated and feared Gaara. His uncle, Yashamaru, seemed to be the only one who cared about him. When a boy, without controlling himself, harmed someone, he understood that it was not out of malice. Unlike his father, who saw in his son only a failed experiment that threatened Suna.
Because of Gaara's danger, the Fourth Kazekage began sending assassins to him. But no one could defeat the boy. Then the father began to ask Yashamaru to rid the village of danger. As a result, Yashamaru received a fatal injury. Of course, Gaara was horrified to learn that his closest person tried to kill him. But the uncle said that he gladly went on this mission, because he wanted to avenge the death of his sister, and then made another murder attempt, exclaiming “Please die!” But Gaara survived this attempt as well. After this incident, the shinobi etched the kanji for "Love" (爱, "Ai") on his forehead. He became a cruel man who could kill anyone to prove his existence.

Gaara's childhood was in many ways similar to Naruto Uzumaki's. Both were lonely and wanted to be loved and accepted as individuals. Additionally, Naruto eventually ended up on Kakashi's team and was on good terms with Iruka, while Gaara's only close friend was the deceitful Yashamaru, who betrayed him. Thus, before meeting Naruto, he didn't understand the point of fighting for anything other than himself.
After this meeting, Gaara was shocked: Naruto understood his pain perfectly. He was even more surprised that Naruto didn't give up hope and eventually found friends who truly cared about him. Then Gaara began to think about his life. He decided to become the Kazekage, hoping that people would recognize him as a person. At the same time, their friendship with Naruto begins.
As the Kazekage, Gaara believes that each village should solve its own problems without the help of others.
Appearance:
Like Naruto, Gaara is slightly shorter than other guys his age. He has pale skin and short hair. His eyes are green, but in his childhood memories they were blue. Gaara does not have pronounced eyebrows. In general, a shinobi has two very noticeable features: the first is black rings around his eyes, which he has had since birth, because because of Shukaku the boy hardly slept. The second is the hieroglyph “Love” on the forehead.
In the first part, Gaara was seen wearing two different outfits. For the first time he appeared in a black suit with short sleeves and an open neck. At the same time, he wore a white cloth on his right shoulder. It ran diagonally to the left thigh and was attached there. There was a strip of leather running from the left shoulder to the right thigh. On his back, Gaara carried a "pumpkin" - a bag in which he carries his sand.
In the Sasuke Search Arc, Gaara changed from his previous black suit to a reddish brown suit with longer sleeves and a vertical collar.

Gaara(Japanese: 我愛羅) is a fictional character in the anime and manga Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto. Kishimoto introduced the character of Gaara as a "quasi-doppelgänger" to the series' main character, Naruto Uzumaki: both were born under similar circumstances, but developed very differently as individuals while overcoming problems with their upbringings. Gaara has large reserves of internal energy - chakra. This is partly due to the fact that he is a jinchuuriki. However, after the tailed beast is removed from his body, the degree of physical strength does not decrease.

Despite this, in battle Gaara prefers to stay at a long distance and rarely use taijutsu, a martial arts technique.

As they write in Narutopedia, Gaara has the ability to manipulate sand. In addition to the sand that is in the jug and is filled with his chakra, he is also able to control it from the outside.

From birth, he is given the natural powers of earth (doton), wind (futon) and lightning (raiton), which he can combine with his sand, thus strengthening the protective function, increasing the speed and the affected area itself.

His position in battle is to stand still and attack the enemy from a long distance. First, Gaara captures and paralyzes the target (desert coffin - "sabaku kyu"), and then crushes all parts of the body (sand funeral - "sabaku soso"), mixing sand with water.

To attack, the enemy needs to be able to pass through the shield of his sand, which protects Gaara automatically (sand shield - “suna no tate”). When successfully attacking an enemy, the hero uses the Sunu no Yoroi jutsu, which allows him to cover his body with a very thin layer of sand.
