The benefits of ice and ice water for rejuvenation have been known since time immemorial. Many ancient tips and recipes have been preserved that mention washing and wiping the face with ice water and spring water. Indeed, applying these techniques in practice, you can notice that after ice procedures the face is instantly transformed: a healthy blush, elasticity, and velvety appear. For those who want to experience the beneficial properties for themselves, cosmetologists share their secrets. We present you recipes for facial ice to prepare at home.

For freezing cosmetic ice at home, there are the following basic rules:

  1. Before freezing water, it must first be filtered and boiled.
  2. Water You can use mineral water without gas. When freezing, gas balls form voids, which, when wiped, can scratch the delicate skin of the face. Mineral water is rich in vitamins and beneficial microelements, which are almost instantly absorbed into the skin, making it more elastic. Recommended for women over 45 years of age.
  3. What to freeze in. For preparation, any molds you have are suitable: plastic, bags, silicone - they are considered the most convenient to use.
  4. Basics. You can simply wipe your face with frozen water. But it is more effective to use special infusions, decoctions of medicinal herbs and flowers. And freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices, kefir, milk, tea, cereal decoctions, and coffee are also good for these purposes. Very often, in the preparation of bases for wiping the face, they use the addition of a few drops of essential, cosmetic and aromatic oils.
  5. Concentration. When freezing herbal infusion, black or green tea, you must be sure to monitor the strength of the infusion being prepared. Citrus fruits, berries, and some vegetable juices must be diluted 1:1 with water before freezing to avoid irritation. Grape, melon, watermelon, cucumber, aloe juice, do not need to be diluted.
  6. Pen. In order to make the cubes convenient to hold, you need to put some kind of holder in the molds with the prepared base. A cotton swab or a regular toothpick is perfect for this purpose.
  7. Place the molds filled with the solution so that they are away from strong-smelling foods, as ice has the ability to absorb odors well. Store the prepared cubes for no more than seven days.
  8. Alternating ingredients. You can choose one type of ice for yourself or use different components alternately. The main rule is that the products are fresh. Herbs are another matter; they can be dried for future use, or you can buy a collection at the pharmacy.

Infusion. In a pre-prepared container you need to put two tablespoons of the herb used, the pulp of fruits or berries - those components that you decide to use. Pour one glass of boiling water over them. Mix. Cover with a tight lid. Let it brew for about one hour. Then strain using gauze or a special strainer. Then pour the prepared, now cooled infusion into molds.

Decoction. Use the ingredients and water in the quantities indicated above. Place all ingredients in a small saucepan. Put on fire, stir. As soon as the water begins to boil, remove from heat, let the broth sit for an hour, strain, cool, and pour into molds.

Freshly squeezed juice. You should not use packaged juice for procedures. It's better to cook it yourself. Any types must first be diluted with water 1:1. Exceptions: watermelon, aloe, cucumber.
Teas. To prepare tea infusion, only leaf types of green or black tea are suitable. 1 tsp. per glass of water, the temperature of which should not exceed 950C.

You can also use frozen, thinly sliced vegetables or fruits to wipe your face.

Depending on your skin type, you can choose the appropriate recipe. This is extremely important, since not all formulations are equally suitable, for example, for dry and oily types.

Dry types are the earliest to develop wrinkles. To make ice, do not use components that have drying or astringent effects.
This type needs hydration more than others.

Use the following ingredients in preparation:

  • Milk, cream, honey - 1 tbsp. l. For one glass of the finished product.
  • Decoctions or infusions of rose petals, elderberry, rosehip, hawthorn, linden blossom, melon juice, sea buckthorn, strawberry, raspberry.

This type, more than others, is susceptible to acne and excessive oily shine, which appears due to the intense work of the sebaceous glands. To solve this problem, use antiseptic, astringent, drying components:

  • decoctions and infusions: oak bark, chamomile, calendula flowers;
  • juices - aloe, cucumber, lemon, parsley, persimmon (lemon juice must be diluted with water).

In the warm season, during the period of abundant flowering of herbs, use other additional ingredients. For oily skin, you can use it 2 times a day, and you can also use ice on your face at home.

For owners of this type, the following ingredients are suitable:

  • Decoctions and infusions: string, peppermint, birch buds;
  • Juices: aloe, cucumber, watermelon;
  • Coffee.

Coffee ice contains microelements that intensively fight the appearance of wrinkles, tone, and tighten.

People with normal skin type also need to take care of its condition and health.
The following recipes for making ice are suitable for them:

  • tinctures: mumiyo, kelp, rose or rose petals, leaves, chamomile flowers;
  • juices: cucumber, watermelon, aloe, strawberry;
  • decoctions: chamomile, mint, sage, string;
  • mineral water.

The skin around the eyes is more delicate, therefore it is primarily susceptible to age-related changes and requires more careful care. Rubbing the area around the eyes with cosmetic ice will improve tone, relieve swelling, and help get rid of fine wrinkles. The following ingredients are recommended.

  • Parsley and cucumber juices;
  • green leaf tea.

Do not forget to apply moisturizers to the areas around the eyes during the cold season, as well as after cryomassage.

Best regards, Irina Pelekh!

At all times, women wanted to be beautiful and preserve their beauty for as long as possible. All women are afraid of old age and wrinkles. These telltale cracks on the face so clearly show the age of women.

Therefore, since ancient times, various means have been invented to delay old age, alchemists tried to invent a means of “eternal youth”, scientists struggled with the secrets of rejuvenating elixirs. And, it must be said, some progress in this direction has been made, and without the help of the perfume industry.

And these are just simple ice cubes for the face, and if prepared according to certain recipes, they will become a real salvation from wrinkles.

Historians claim that Elizabeth Petrovna and Catherine the Great, who had white and delicate skin, washed their faces with an ice cube every day. This allowed them to keep their face smooth and fresh until old age and protect it from wrinkles.

In Russian villages, beauties washed themselves with water from the melting snow and after the bath they rolled in the snow. We are not talking about hardening now, but how do ice and snow water help in the fight to preserve beauty?

  • Ice helps saturate the body cells with moisture and tones it. In contact with skin cells, it improves metabolism due to strong blood flow to the surface. The cold causes the pores to narrow sharply, which increases elasticity and produces collagen faster.

  • At the same moment, the vessels located deep in the epidermis expand. When the ice wash ends, the surface pores expand and the capillaries fill with blood. Such icy “gymnastics” for the pores leads to the fact that the skin on the face and body is rejuvenated, smoothed, acquires a natural blush, and there are fewer wrinkles.

  • Cold supports the skin's ability to self-rejuvenate, dryness and dullness of the skin are reduced, minor defects quickly disappear, and the formation of new wrinkles is inhibited.

Ice is very effective against wrinkles on the face and around the eyes!

Oily skin will benefit from this procedure. After narrowing the sebaceous glands, the secretion of the sebaceous glands will decrease, the skin will become matte and healthy looking. This procedure is also very useful for women with dry facial skin who are beginning to develop wrinkles.

But more mature women do not need to give up washing with ice. Of course, you will have to wait longer for the effect, but moisturizing is still extremely useful. Ice is very effective against aging skin and wrinkles around the eyes.

Contraindications to the procedure

No matter how useful the procedure is, it is not suitable for everyone. Massage with ice cubes for the face, as a remedy for wrinkles, has certain contraindications:

  • For very dry and flaky skin;
  • Anti-wrinkle ice cubes should not be used for the area around the eyes if you have inflammatory eye diseases;
  • With dilated capillaries placed close to the surface of the skin;
  • In acute inflammatory process;
  • It is unacceptable to use ice for wrinkles on the face with eczema or seborrhea, or with festering wounds;
  • You cannot carry out such a cosmetic procedure immediately before going outside in the winter;
  • It is contraindicated for women with purulent sinusitis, osteoporosis, and atherosclerosis.

Features of the procedure

Before using ice on your face for wrinkles, you first need to familiarize yourself with all the contraindications and recommendations for their implementation. This will help you avoid suffering from side effects of cosmetic procedures.

The mold for making cosmetic ice must be absolutely clean, herbs without impurities, purified and filtered water. You should know the characteristics of your skin; you can consult with a cosmetologist which herbs he will recommend for you to use.

IMPORTANT: read the contraindications before the procedure!

Ice cubes cannot be stored indefinitely, fruit ice cannot be stored for more than 3-4 days, and phyto-ice no more than a week. Therefore, in order not to cause harm and get rid of wrinkles on the face and in the area around the eyes, it is necessary to monitor the “expiration date” of the cosmetic product.

Before cryomassage, wash your face with warm water and foam, and when finished, apply cream to your face and remember that you can only expose your face to cold temperatures after 1.5-2 hours.

Some herbs, such as parsley, are strong allergens, so before you start rejuvenating, talk to your doctor and get tested for allergies.

After using anti-wrinkle ice, you need to apply a moisturizing cream for the face and a delicate cream for the area around the eyes.

Rules for massage

You should not mindlessly and haphazardly rub your face with an ice cube - this will not bring any benefit to your face. To achieve an anti-wrinkle effect, you need to move strictly along the massage lines:

  • Forehead - we begin the massage exactly from the center of the forehead to the temples, and then from the bridge of the nose to the hairline.
  • Nose - from the bridge of the nose, with very light movements, move the cube to the wings of the nose.
  • Cheeks - from the nose area, without stretching the skin, move towards the ears.
  • Chin - from the middle of the chin to the edges of the lips, and then to the middle of the ears.
  • The area around the eyes - along the upper eyelid from the inner corner to the outer, and then along the lower eyelid in the same way.

IMPORTANT: do not stretch the skin or press the cube on it during the massage!

After the procedure, we do not wipe our face; the released liquid should be absorbed naturally.

The procedure for rubbing the skin with ice cubes for wrinkles cannot last more than five minutes.

Even the first procedures provide a rejuvenating effect. Of course, this largely depends on the woman’s age and skin condition. But constant cryoprocedures significantly improve the appearance of the face: they smooth out even deep wrinkles, slow down the appearance of new ones, refresh, tone, remove sebaceous shine and mask large protruding capillaries. Ice also transforms the delicate area around the eyes and saves it from wrinkles.

Systematic implementation of such procedures accelerates metabolic processes in the skin and normalizes blood circulation.
