We crochet a rope of beads. How to crochet a rope of beads

I present to your attention a master class on knitting beaded ropes.

To begin with, there are photos of products that you can create for yourself or your loved ones using the technique of crocheting ropes.

To learn the technique, I suggest using:

  1. Beads 10/0 or 8/0 in two colors (preferably contrasting).
  2. White cotton threads (like Iris and similar, suitable in thickness). It is more convenient to study on white threads, since the loops are clearly visible on them.
  3. Hook 1.25 – 1.75 depending on the thickness of the threads and the size of the beads.
  4. Needle.

We string beads onto a thread, alternating colors, approximately 25-30 cm.

We knit the first loop.

We knit 1 air loop. We will then close the ring into it.

In the same way we knit 6 beads in a row.

After we have knitted 6 air loops with beads, we close the ring. We knit a connecting stitch through the very first empty loop and the last one on the hook.

The result is the 1st row.

We knit the second row. Separate 6 beads, move the first bead close to the air loop.

We stick the hook into the first air loop knitted with beads and knit a half-column on the LEFT side.

Very important!!! We always knit on the left side, that is, the beads on the thread and the beads of the air loop being knitted should be BEHIND the hook, and the thread with which we knit the air loops should be IN FRONT of the work, as if in the middle of the cord. If everything is done correctly, the bead of the bottom row is pressed by the top one and turns with the hole up.

The color of the bead being moved and the one we are knitting should be the same. If the colors do not match, it means you made a mistake somewhere and you need to unravel to the place where the colors match and knit again.

I knit each bead in four stages: 1 - I move the bead to the loop with the nail of the index finger of my right hand, 2 - I stick the hook into the loop with the bead of the previous row, 3 - I move the beads by the hook with the nail of my left thumb, 4 - I knit loop OVER the moved bead.

We knit the remaining 5 beads in the same way. The result is the second row.

This is what the two rows look like from the side

Then we continue to knit in a circle, making sure that the color of the beads being moved and knitted match. If you knit everything correctly, then inside the bundle you get a knitted cord of threads, and all the beads remain outside. The end of the rope looks like a flower, the petals of which are our beads. When doing a lot of work, periodically check that the number of “petals” always remains the same. If we knit with 6 beads, then there should always be six of them in the top row. If there are 5 or 7 of them, then you need to disband until there are 6 of them again.

When knitted correctly, the beads in the knitted rows are pressed tightly against each other, and the holes in them are located parallel to the strand, and only in the very top row do the beads seem to “lie on their sides”

We knit the last row in the same way, with air loops, but without beads. This is done so that our beads unfold and neatly lay on the beads of the previous row.

Hello friends! Creativity fascinates me in all its manifestations. I always want to learn something new and create with my own hands. I think many will understand me, because they themselves are fond of embroidery, knitting, sewing and other types of needlework. And you must agree that you want to learn and try more and more, to expand the boundaries of your knowledge in the field of needlework. Now I'm interested in beadwork and I'm trying to learn something new. I have already shared with you my achievement in bead embroidery in one of the previous articles - a butterfly pendant. And so, inspired by the work of craftswomen in one of the VKontakte groups, I decided to try knitting a rope of beads. Yes, yes, exactly crocheting from beads. This technique allows you to create amazing works.

I read a lot about how knitting bead ropes is very difficult, so I was patient and started to figure everything out from the very beginning. So I’m sharing with you my achievements and understanding of the process of creating a strand of beads only from the point of view of an amateur, not a professional. Although, who knows, maybe there is still more to come.

About crocheted beaded strands:

Harnesses can be knitted in one color or with a pattern. They are knitted either on denim threads or on iris threads. There are also several ways to knit strands with a half-crochet, single crochet and double crochet (Russian method).

The ropes can be knitted in different thicknesses - from 6 beads in diameter to 30 beads.

For beginners, it is easier to knit thinner ropes. It is believed that from 6 to 12 beads in diameter it is easier to knit semi-stitch, and fat ones from 13 to 30 beads in diameter are easier to knit in a stitch. I studied on a strand of 12 beads.

To knit a rope we will need:

Iris thread – 1 ball;

Beads – 2 colors, 30 g each.

2 colors, 15 gr.

Hook – thickness 1.0 or 0.75 mm;

Bead needle or thin wire;

Mat for beads;

How to draw a diagram for a harness yourself:

Let's analyze the scheme we chose. At first glance, everything is complicated, but it only seems so. A strand with a pattern is obtained due to the fact that beads in a certain quantity and in a certain sequence are collected onto a thread. So, how to read a bead strand pattern?

Here is the diagram according to which I will weave the rope.

The top line on the right indicates how many beads the rope will consist of. Its width is 12 beads.

The line below shows how many beads there are in the rapport (a pattern that repeats).

Notice the three color schemes. The first signed Draft shows how the beads will lie when weaving. The second Corrected diagram shows the diagram in a spread as a mosaic. And the last third Simulation diagram shows us what the finished harness will look like.

To make it easier to collect beads, there are colored columns on the side called a report. Each square represents a color from the chart, and the number next to it is the number of beads of that color that need to be placed on the thread. The set starts from the top of the left column, and the subsequent columns are typed from top to bottom.

What is a dictation machine for setting beads onto a rope:

How to calculate the number of beads per thread for knitting a rope:

To knit a product you need to collect a certain number of reports. For example, I am planning to knit a rope 40 cm long. This means that I need to multiply the desired length by the number of beads in the circle.

40×12=480 mm.

That is, 4m. You need to collect 80 cm of beads to tie a rope 40 cm long.

Now that we have figured out all the nuances in reading patterns for beads, we can proceed directly to creativity.
I decided to knit a strand of beads 45 cm long, so I am choosing 5 m. 40 cm of beads per thread according to the repeat. I remind you that the set must begin from the left column from top to bottom, and subsequent columns from top to bottom. I used iris thread, you can also use denim threads.

What threads are suitable for knitting bead strands:

The harness is knitted with ordinary air loops, it all depends on the location of the beads. We create the first loop and immediately knit it, tighten it so that its size is slightly smaller than the bead. We pull the first bead to the loop, grab the thread behind the bead and make a loop.

Move the next bead and do the same. This is how we knit 12 beads, because the harness is designed for exactly this number of beads in a circle. I close the circle by inserting the hook into the first loop from the first bead and pulling the thread through two loops. I begin to knit the second row of the rope: I move the first bead, insert the hook into the loop with the first knitted bead, push it down, as you can see in the photo.

Now I grab the thread with a crochet hook and thread it through two loops; I knit the subsequent beads in the same way. When knitting, the threads should not be loose, otherwise they will be visible and the beads will fall inside the strand.

If you collect a lot of beads at once for a long rope length, then I advise you to count out 12 beads each time for knitting. The fact is that in the first rows the beads do not lie evenly and you can easily get confused and knit either fewer or more beads in the circle.

If you knit 3-5 cm of the rope, you can see that the beads are level and further knitting the rope will be a pleasure.

This activity is very exciting and enjoyable. I also recommend watching a video on knitting a rope, thanks to which I learned how to knit a rope in a half-column.

I will say that I did not immediately manage to knit a rope of beads, and during the breaks between work I did not give up trying to master this technique. In total, I spent 3 weeks creating my first strand of beads, and for 4 days I tried to knit the first rows correctly. As they say: “If only there is a desire.” I hope that you will find this technique interesting and will inspire you to new creative impulses.

And in one of the following articles I will tell you how to decorate the ends of the harness using fittings.

Creative success to you!

We knit cords, braid, plaits.

Gooseneck cord

The most beautiful crocheted cord. Suitable for straps, bag handles, Irish lace.
You can use the caterpillar as the beginning (bottom) of the product, i.e. We use a lace instead of the initial chain.
Great for knitting handles for a bag.

1. Cast on 2 ch.
2. Knit in the first st. b/n.
3. Rotate knitting 180 degrees.
4. Insert the hook to the left of the post into 2 loops.
5. Pull the thread through them
6. Tie st. b/n
7. Rotate the product 180 degrees again

To begin, we cast on a chain of 3 air loops.

Then we grab the working thread with a hook and pull out a loop from the second loop from the hook and, in the same way, pull out another loop from the next initial loop. Thus, three loops appeared on the hook.

Next we lower the first two loops from the hook and grab them with the fingers of our left hand.

Holding the dropped loops with your fingers, grab the working thread with a hook and knit the loop remaining on the hook.

Having knitted the first loop, release one loop, put it on the hook and knit.

Having knitted the second loop, we release the remaining loop, put it on the hook and knit it.

So, there were again 3 loops on the hook.

We begin to repeat the previous steps. We lower the two outer loops from the hook and grab them with our fingers. We knit the remaining 1st loop on the hook. Then we release the 2nd loop and knit it too. Next, we put the 3rd loop on the hook and knit it in the same way. Next, we repeat these simple steps until the required length of the lace is obtained.

Crochet rope

A crochet hook is a unique knitting tool with which you can knit beautiful and durable ropes; we will look at the technique of knitting a round twisted rope in this topic. This cord is ideal as handles for a bag, for creating decorative items, belts, straps, and decorations. The thickness of the rope depends on the thickness of the thread and the number of loops in the initial chain; the thicker the thread, the more loops you need to cast on in the initial chain. http://domihobby.ru/

So, to knit a test sample, take not too thin, light yarn and a suitable hook. Cast on a chain of 5 to 10 chain stitches (depending on the thickness of the thread) and knit the first row with single crochets. Turning the work over, examine the first row and mark the jumpers under the loops into which the hook is inserted during further knitting.

Next, we secure the work into a ring by knitting a connecting post into a side loop.

Then we begin to knit single crochets in a circle, inserting the hook from the outside of the loops behind the jumper.

Having completed the first circle, continue further without making lifting loops. After knitting several rows, you will see that the upper part of the loops twists inward.

Next you will see the outlines of a twisted spiral and the places where the hook will be inserted are clearly visible.

Continue knitting to the required rope length.

Funny braid

Lesson on braiding cord with ribbons!

In this weaving, the main thing is to start) this is the most difficult part, because when you start, it seems that the drawing is not the same at all, and in general something incomprehensible turns out)))

So. let's start)

1. take two ribbons. they can be different colors or they can be the same. For ease of explanation, I take ribbons of two colors: green and yellow

2. take the green ribbon and fold it into a loop

3. now we take the yellow tape and also fold it into a loop (with the other hand), I just had to take pictures a little inconveniently)

4. thread the yellow loop into the green one

5. tighten the green loop

6. now fold the new green loop again and thread it through the yellow one

7. tighten the yellow loop

8.fold the yellow loop again, thread it through the green one and tighten

9. The question may arise: where to put the loop that appears on the outside after threading it into the other?

we just pull it all the way into another loop....

10. and this is what we should get in the end))))

Sorry for the quality - I took the photo on my phone. If you have any questions, ask. I tried to explain

as accessible as possible)))) Thank you for your attention

How to crochet a pearl cord

Accessories made from beads are always at the peak of popularity. These small glass beads, woven into strands in various combinations, attract special attention. Therefore, many needlewomen want to learn how to crochet a rope of beads. The master class will help you master this intricate art.

Features of bead strands

The most famous and ancient bead decoration is the rope. It can be an independent decoration, for example, a bracelet, a necklace, or it can be woven into a pendant or as an element of earrings. These products were widespread back in Ancient Egypt - it’s not for nothing that the famous Cleopatra was always depicted with an exquisite beaded cord around her neck. In essence, a rope is a hollow cord made of single-colored or multi-colored beads of the same or different sizes, woven using special techniques (crocheted or using a needle) and patterns. If you use a hook, then all models will differ only in the pattern, but the shape will be the same - cylindrical.

Specifics of crocheting harnesses

Before you start tying the tourniquet, you need to:

  • decide on the design you want to embody. The length and thickness of the product will depend on this, and therefore the amount of beads required for the strand;
  • calculate the number of beads according to the following scheme: the length of the finished cord is multiplied by the number of beads of thickness (for example, for a length of 50 cm and a width of 8 beads you need to take 400 glass beads);
  • choose the appropriate thread thickness and select a hook for the thread.

The difficulty of beading with a hook is that the knitting turns out to be quite tight, since there are no yarn overs that make the process airy and free. However, having mastered the master class of crocheting a rope from beads, you will not remain indifferent to this activity.

If the threads and hook are selected correctly for the beads, then it is not difficult to make a knitted rope from beads - a master class of any needlewoman will confirm this. So, when choosing threads we take into account:

  • thickness (the thinner the better);
  • texture (only synthetics or cotton iris);
  • color (it’s better when the thread is the same shade as the beads).

To choose the right hook, you should take into account the same principle as with the thickness of the threads: it is better to take a thin one. For beads, knitting tools of 0.5-1.6 are recommended.

Secrets of beautiful braiding

To make the strands beautiful and neat, you should take into account some nuances when working with beads:

  • the working surface should be covered with a piece of fabric of a contrasting color with the beads - this way the beads will not get lost;
  • if you have chosen a complex scheme, then arm yourself with a pencil and cross out the completed rows;
  • check the quality of the beads - defective material will ruin your work;
  • It is better to string beads with a needle rather than with your fingers - this way there is less risk of losing the beads;
  • if you use very thin threads, you can strengthen them by passing them through a piece of beeswax;
  • During the weaving process, make sure that the hook is in front of the bead on top, and the thread is on top in front of the product - then the beads will fit tightly to each other.

How to tie a monochromatic rope?

If you are just starting to master the technology of creating crocheted bead strands, master class, patterns are best chosen for plain models.

To work you will need:

  • large beads (about 40 g per 20 cm of rope);
  • hook 1.5;
  • thin threads of iris;
  • bead needle;
  • clasp.

Instructions:

  1. Cut the thread 2-2.5 m long.
  2. We string the beads, securing the end of the thread with a knot.
  3. We knit a column with air loops (the number of loops is the width of the rope), after each loop we grab a bead.
  4. We close the ring.
  5. We knit half-columns, attracting 1 bead at a time.
  6. The loops should be the same, and we make the number of beads for each row the same so that there are no distortions.
  7. We complete the product as with standard crochet - tighten the loop and hide the end inside the plait.
  8. We glue or sew the fastener to the finished product.

We knit a forked tourniquet

Fans of original forms will certainly appreciate the accessibility of the bifurcated harness scheme.

We will need:

  • beads (can be two-colored) – 50 g;
  • thin threads of iris;
  • needle;
  • hook 1.5-1.6;
  • clasp.

Instructions:

  1. Cut a thread about 2.5 m long.
  2. We string the beads and knit them to the bifurcation point according to the usual pattern: we pull a bead under each loop and draw the pattern in a circle.
  3. In the place of the necessary bifurcation we knit a series of air loops and pull them to the opposite side through the center.
  4. We continue knitting according to the same pattern, but now for 2 parts.
  5. To combine the product into 1 bundle again, we knit the touching parts of the branches together, combining the loops.
  6. We complete the work by tightening the loop and sewing or gluing the fastener.

Schemes for crochet harness

It’s not so difficult to crochet a beaded rope—a master class just needs to be chosen to suit it. And it’s better to start with simple models, experimenting with shape, and then move on to complex patterns with alternating several colors. In this case, beading will bring a lot of pleasure not only from the result, but also from the very process of creating exclusive jewelry.

Lariat "Equality"

Two-color rope with a smooth transition from color to color. The classic combination of light and dark shades makes it possible to wear it in any situation.

We will need:

1. 2 colors of Czech beads No. 10 (in this version, white and transparent with a gray colored center).
2. threads for knitting iris, also in two colors to match the color of the beads.
3. crochet hook No. 1.0.
4. needle for beading.
5. assembly tool.
6. accessories for assembly and decoration. I also used two beads braided with beads for decoration.

The peculiarity of this lariat is the set of beads. I started casting on white thread from the darker part in the pattern and kept the dark beads to a minimum. When we have typed the transition, we select only as many white beads as needed. Next, we take the dark threads and assemble everything completely in reverse - first only dark beads, then we begin the transition with light beads according to the pattern, but from the bottom up. The transition set on light and dark threads should be the same length. I braided the beads using a mosaic.

This lariat is 170 cm long, where the transition as a whole is 40 cm, and the plain parts are 65 cm, respectively. You can calculate how many beads to collect yourself: measure the rows by 1 cm and count the number of beads, then measure these beads in cm and multiply by the required length of the rope (or part of it). This is how many cm you need to gain.
This rope has a diameter of 6 beads and is knitted in a half-column. We start knitting from the light part, because... on it the set without transition turns out to be extreme. At the beginning of knitting the rope and at the end, we need to knit a pin for further fastening of beads and accessories. Having knitted 3-4 rows from the beginning of the rope, insert the straight end of the pin into the middle of it, and leave the hooked end under the knitting. Then you need to make several turns around the pin and clamp it with pliers (so that the pin does not jump out of the product).

And we continue to knit. We knit the transition on a light thread. Here we need to make a knot and switch to a dark thread. The knot is made from the inside. And we begin to knit the dark thread in the same way as we started knitting, while we hide the knot inside. During the knitting process, the tails will hide in the plait. We tie the dark part of the lariat, not forgetting to insert a pin at the end. Just the other way around: first we wrap the curved end of the pin and clamp it, then we knit about 1 cm and finish. We decorate the ends of the lariat with balls and a toggle lock.

This example of a diagram is for a small transition, about 20 centimeters. For the light part, we start the set from the top right, and for the dark part, from the bottom left.
