The last ten days of Ramadan and the night of destiny. Last days of Ramadan

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “If a Muslim leaves without receiving forgiveness and mercy, he is a real failure.”

Ramadan is a particularly blessed time in the life of a Muslim, and his last ten days are especially significant in the life of a believer. These are the most blessed days of the most blessed month of the year. Every day of this decade is shrouded in many blessings and opportunities for gaining the pleasure of Allah, which lies in the happiness of the believer in both worlds. Can a believer miss such an opportunity and not devote himself to intense worship, as the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did, and gain barakah and prosperity in our affairs, peace and tranquility in the soul and happiness in both worlds?

The hadith says: “When the last ten nights (of Ramadan) began, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would stay awake at night (for prayer and worship), wake up his family and prepare himself to be more diligent in worship.”

The last ten days of Ramadan for a Muslim should be a time of perfecting their fast and avoiding everything that could break it. This is a time for charity and helping those in need, resolving troubles and forgiveness. This is a time for self-improvement, improving life, crying out in prayer and repentance. With a sincere request, the Almighty will forgive the believer his sins.

The last third of Ramadan is the time of liberation from the fire of Hell. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said in a hadith: “People, a great and blessed month is approaching. There is a night in this month that is better than a thousand months. Allah has made fasting during the day of this month obligatory and prayer at night praiseworthy during this month. Whoever does good deeds of his own free will during this month is equivalent to performing an obligatory good deed at another time, and whoever does an obligatory good deed is equivalent to performing seventy obligatory good deeds at another time. This is the month of patience, and the reward for patience is Paradise. This is the month of kindness and mercy. This month the degree of the believer increases. Anyone who gives food to a fasting person during this month will receive forgiveness for his sins and will be saved from hellfire... the first third of the month of Ramadan is a time of mercy, the second third is for forgiveness, the third is intended for liberation from hellfire...”

The best time to cry out to the Almighty is last third of the night. The hadith says: “The Majesty of our Lord descends into the lower heaven every night in the last third of the night, and He says: “Who calls on Me to answer? Who asks Me to give to him? Who is asking for forgiveness so that I will forgive him?”

The hadith also says: “Every night there is a special time during which a Muslim asks Allah for something and it will be granted to him, and this moment comes every night.”

In addition, the peculiarity of this time is that during its period there are Night of Predestination, which is so virtuous and significant in its blessing that worship at this time is better than the worship of a thousand months.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Look for Laylat al-Qadr on the odd nights of the last ten nights of Ramadan.”

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever performs Qiyam during Laylat al-Qadr with faith and hope of Allah’s reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: “I asked: “O Messenger of Allah! How should I pray on Laylat al-Qadr? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied: “You should recite the following dua: Allahumma innaka afuwun tuhibbul-afwa, fafu` Anni (Allah, you are forgiving, and forgive me).”

Responsibilities of a Muslim these blessed days are:

  1. Improving fasting, abstaining from food, drink, slander, bad habits and everything that is disliked by Allah.
  2. During the last days of Ramadan, believers should devote more time to the Quran and the remembrance of the Almighty.
  3. Perform taraweeh, organize common iftars.
  4. Cleanse the soul from all sins, make a lot of effort to elevate the soul by doing many good deeds. Use every minute to protect yourself from the fire of Hell.
  5. Perform more prayers, preferably with jamaat, and perform itikaf if possible.

And remember that Allah’s mercy is comprehensive and limitless, that he has determined special time periods, providing them with the opportunity to significantly increase your rewards and barakat in a short time. And just today this especially blessed time is coming, do not miss the opportunity to change your life for the better.

Time flies inexorably forward. The last ten days of Ramadan have already arrived. What makes these last ten days special is the “Night of Predestination”, which is hidden in one of these nights. As you know, these days the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was zealous in worship as at no other time. Today we want to give 10 tips to do these days.

1) Spend your nights in prayer!

“Verily, We have revealed it (the Quran) on the night of predestination (or greatness). How could you know what the night of predestination (or greatness) is? The night of predestination (or greatness) is better than a thousand months. On this night, the angels and the Spirit (Jibril) descend with the permission of their Lord according to all His commands. She is safe until dawn.”

(Quran, 97 sura).

We are often asked the question: “On what day exactly will the Night of Predestination come?” The calendars say that this Night will be specifically on the 27th. However, we know that it cannot be tied to a specific date, because our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Wait for the coming of the Night of Destiny on one of the last ten odd nights of Ramadan.”

Al-Bukhari 2017

The All-Wise Allah hid from us the exact date of the Night of Destiny and ordered us to treat every night of the last ten days of Ramadan with even greater attention. On these nights it is very important to perform additional prayers: Tarawih and Tahajjud. After all, you can get to the Night of Power, the night when commands are fulfilled and people’s destinies are decided.

2) Ask for forgiveness for your sins

“Whoever spends Laylat al-Qadr in prayer with faith and in hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”

(Al-Bukhari 38)

One of the best duas that can be pronounced at this time is the dua that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) taught to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).

“Allahumma innaka ‘afuvvun tuhibbul-‘afwa fa’fu anni”

“O Allah, You are All-Forgiving and You love to forgive, so forgive me.”

(Tirmidhi).

3) Make a list of duas

This could be a list of people for whom you would like to pray, or a list of your personal affairs and desires that you would like to ask Allah for. This will help you focus on what's important and make sure you haven't missed anything. It will also help you analyze your desires and think about what you could do on your part to make all your desires come true in the near future.

4) Read the Koran

Ramadan is the month of the Koran, because it was during this time that our holy book was revealed. One can endlessly list the advantages of reading the Koran. We will just give you a couple of hadiths. It was narrated from Abdullah ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“Fasting and the Koran will testify for man on the day of resurrection. The fast will say: “O Allah, I deprived him of food and other desires during the day, so let me intercede on his behalf.” The Quran will say: “Oh Lord, I deprived him of sleep at night, so let me intercede for him.”

(Ahmad, 3882).

Also, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The best of you is the one who reads the Quran and teaches it to others.”

(Sahih al-Bukhari).

5) Itikaf.

Usually the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) spent the last ten days and nights of Ramadan in the mosque (itikaf). The person performing I'tikaf stays in the mosque during this time, performing various forms of dhikr (remembering Allah), performing additional prayers, reading and studying the Qur'an. He never leaves the mosque except when necessary. Itikaf is also encouraged for a shorter period of time - one night, one day or a couple of days.

6) Use every second of time to praise Allah.

Unfortunately, in our time it is very difficult to step away from all worldly affairs and spend all 10 days in the mosque. However, you cannot just sit and wait for time to worship, you need to carve out and find this time. Any free time use to remember and praise Allah. Learn a few dhikrs and repeat them while cleaning the house, waiting for the bus, going to the store, etc. Don't waste your time.

7) Make donations (sadaqah).

It is important at this time to help those who find themselves in difficult times. life situation. You can help them with both money and support. Every help you give will be returned to you many times over. And of course, do not forget to pay Fitr Sadaqa, the minimum amount of which this year per person is 30 soms.

8) Keep fasting as if it was the last time in your life

Often our fast is limited to refusing food and drink. While fasting is giving up everything that causes you harm and does not benefit you: aggression, gossip, watching meaningless films, empty conversations, etc. Try with special attention relate to what you say, listen to and what you look at. Try to live these days the way you would like to live your last day of life, with full awareness of the Greatness of Allah and Submission to Him.

9. Evaluate yourself

Ask yourself the questions that need to be asked. Evaluate yourself - what you have achieved and what you are striving for. May such an assessment allow you to experience happiness from the good deeds you have done and repentance for the bad things you have done. After this, it will be easier for you to seek forgiveness from Allah by calling on Him with prayers during these blessed nights.

10) Make the most of these ten days

Make every effort to make the best of these days. Remember that the next Ramadan will come only in a year and there is no guarantee that we will catch it.

May Allah accept all your worship and grant barakah in your time.

It's hard to believe, but Ramadan is about to end. There are only a few days left, and for a believer such an opportunity for savab will come no earlier than in a year. The last 10 days of Ramadan are the most blessed, so the believer must increase his worship and commitment to the faith, as he holds gem named Laylat al-Qadr, who is better than 1000 nights. The believer must strive to reach this night, which is hidden in the last 10 days of the holy month. This is our chance to become closer to the Almighty, to achieve his mercy and forgiveness of past and present sins.

1. We perform itikaf

Itikaf is staying in the mosque in worship with the intention of becoming closer to the Almighty, performing constant dhikr, praising the Almighty. Itikaf is the sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). If a believer is unable to perform itikaf for 10 days, he should try to perform itikaf for as many days as he can - nafl itikaf. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) devoted himself to itikaf (solitude for worship in the mosque) during the last ten nights of Ramadan until he left the world, his wives followed this practice. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

2. Create a daily worship list.

Plan and make a list of acts of worship that you should perform during the day and stick to it. Distribute your time most effectively.

3. We increase worship in the last days of Ramadan.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) especially increased his worship in the last 10 days of Ramadan.

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) reported: When the last ten nights (of Ramadan) began, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would stay awake at night (for prayer and worship), wake up his family and prepare himself to be more diligent in worship. (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

4. We continuously read the Koran.

The Koran was revealed on the blessed night of Destiny and should be read a lot on this night. After all, the reward for reading one letter of the Quran in Ramadan is 700 hassan. It is important to recite Surah Yasin every day after Fajr. Surah Mulk before going to bed, Surah Kahf every Friday.

5. We perform voluntary prayers.

The reward for saying fard prayers outside of Ramadan is the greatest that a Muslim can achieve, but during Ramadan we can get the same reward for performing voluntary prayers. We should strive to perform as many voluntary prayers as we can in order to become closer to the Almighty.

6. We remember the Almighty.

Increase your remembrance of Allah in the last days of Ramadan by praising Him. The hadith says: “On the Day of Judgment, a person will be shown the time he spent in his life. And he will greatly regret every hour he spent without remembering Allah.” This was reported by Ibn Rajab in “Jami‘ al-‘ulum wa-l-hikam” (p. 135).

7. Make dua

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran: “If My servants ask you about Me, then I am close and answer the call of the person praying when he calls on Me. So let them answer Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right path” (2:186).

Dua has great significance before the Almighty. Allah loves those who repent and those who turn to Him in sincere repentance: “Verily, Allah loves those who repent...” (2:222).

8. In the last days of Ramadan, increase the sunnah by using miswak, sunnahs for going to bed, eating, drinking, etc.

9. We perform repentance for the past and present.

The last ten days of Ramadan are the days of forgiveness from the Almighty, which we can only earn through worship and sincere petition.

10. We strive for the night of Predestination

“We sent it down on a blessed night, and We warn. All wise deeds are decided in it by command from Us. We send prophets and scriptures” (44:2-5).

The first condition for receiving rewards this night is to remain awake. As for what exactly a person should do during this night, then in this case the choice is up to the person himself. He can: perform nafil or kaza prayers, read the Koran, make as many duas as possible, or indulge in reflection. All this is sunnah. And there is no doubt that if you spend every night of the last ten days of Ramadan in worship, you will certainly reach the night of Destiny and gain permanent benefits, as if you had been worshiping for 83 years.

Rezeda Aziyatullina

Praise be to Allah who made Ramadan best month per year. Allah increases the rewards of the believers in this month.

Peace and blessings to the best of all prophets and messengers - our prophet Muhammad, his family and all companions.

The great days have arrived - the last ten days of Ramadan. This is the last ten days of the great month. These days are different from all other days of the month of Ramadan.

TO distinctive features these days:

1. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) showed more diligence during these days of Ramadan than on other days.

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) showed more diligence in the last ten days of Ramadan than on any other days.”

2. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stood all these nights in prayer.

It is reported that ‘Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “When the last ten days of Ramadan arrived, the Prophet would tighten his izar, engage in acts of worship at night and wake up his family members.”

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) showed such diligence during these days that, as stated in the hadith “I pulled my izar tighter”. This means that he did not approach his wives and was engaged only in worship, devoting all his time to it.

So follow, dear brother, the example of your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Try not to miss any of these few days and nights, because, truly, there is a great reward in them. Look forward to this blessed night by worshiping Allah. Ask your Greatest and Most Generous Lord with humility and submission.

Every nation or community keeps within itself the history of those days of which they are proud. Our community is also proud of the great events that took place in its history. She takes pride in the days and nights that are special to her. One of the mercies with which Allah (He is Holy and Great) has blessed this community is the Night of Predestination. Allah called her blessed because of the numerous blessings that accompanied her.

Benefits associated with this night:

- revelation of the Holy Qur'an.

- Allah (Holy and Great is He) said that on this night all wise deeds are decided. On this Night the fate of all creations for the whole year is determined. The names of those who are destined to live and who are to die, who will be great and who will be humble, who will be happy and who will be miserable, who will perish and who will be saved, and whether there will be fertility or drought are written down. Everything that Allah (He is Holy and Great) wills this year is written down.

Allah Almighty said: “We sent it down on a blessed night, and We warn. In it all wise matters are decided by command from Us. We send the prophets and the Scriptures by the grace of your Lord, the Hearing, the Knowing” (Smoke 1-6).

The Almighty also said about this great night: “Verily, We sent it down (the Quran) on the Night of Predestination (or Majesty). How could you know what the Night of Predestination (or Majesty) is? The Night of Predestination (or Majesty) is better than a thousand months. On this night, the angels and the Spirit (Jibril) descend with the permission of their Lord according to all His commands. She is prosperous until dawn” (Power 1-5).

Let's list the advantages of this night:

1. Allah sent down the Holy Quran on this night, which is a guide for people and the reason for their happiness in both worlds.

2. Allah (Holy and Great is He) drew our attention to this night, saying: “ How could you know what the Night of Predestination (or Majesty) is?” This is the question that gives it importance and significance.

3. Angels descend on this night, and their arrival is always accompanied by mercy and goodness.

4. This night is better than a thousand months, that is, better than eighty-three years.

5. On this night, Allah frees many of his slaves from punishment and torment. Only His obedient servants deserve this.

6. Allah sent down a whole sura on this night, which will be read until the Day of Judgment.

The virtues of the Night of Destiny are spoken of in an authentic hadith. Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever prays at night during Ramadan with faith and hope for Allah’s reward will have his previous sins forgiven.”

O Muslim! This is a great and blessed night, which is preferably expected in the last ten days of the month of Ramadan, and especially on odd dates.

In an authentic hadith from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) it is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Look for it on odd numbers of the last ten days.”

Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Wait for the Night of Destiny in the last ten nights of Ramadan, when there are nine or seven or five nights left until the end of the month.”

There is a high probability that the Night of Destiny is one of the last seven nights.

It is reported from the words of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that one day it was revealed to several people from among the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in a dream that the Night of Destiny would be one of the last seven nights of Ramadan, and then the messenger Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I see that your dreams converge on the last seven nights, so let the one who waits for the Night of Destiny await its arrival during the last seven nights of Ramadan.”.

Some believe that this is the twenty-seventh night.

It was narrated from Ubayyah bin Kaba and Muawiyah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The Night of Predestination is the twenty-seventh night.”

Regarding the Night of Predestination, scientists have disagreed. The most correct opinion is that this is one of the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan, and it can come earlier in one year than in another, and vice versa. Al-Khuzaima said: “This night moves, that is, one year it falls on one date, and in another year it falls on another. This opinion allows us to harmonize all transmitted hadiths on this topic.”

Allah (Holy and Great), out of mercy towards His slaves, hid the knowledge of this night from them, so that they would be more zealous and worship more on these days. The number of odd days of the last ten days is few, but the reward in them is enormous. Therefore, dear brother, remember Allah more often and make dua these days. Especially the dua that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).

She said: “I asked the Messenger of Allah: “If I recognize this night, then what should I say then?” He replied: “Say: “O Allah! Truly You are Forgiving and you love forgiveness, forgive me!”

O Muslim! Spend more time these days in worship, humility and submission to Allah (Holy and Great is He) and do not waste a minute or a second. Beware of making innovations these days for which there is no clear indication in Sharia from Allah or His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). For example, such as collective dua, or performing any types of worship associated directly with these days, or holding solemn meetings and sermons. All this is forbidden to do, since there is no indication of this either from Allah or from His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

Do what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and his companions did and follow their example. Do not deviate from their path so as not to get lost.

O Allah! Grant us your mercy and forgiveness.

O Allah! Forgive our sins and mistakes. Strengthen us on Your straight path until the day when we meet You.

O Allah! Bless our works and our time. Give us strength to obey and worship you.

O Allah! Save us, our fathers and mothers, from the fire of Hell.

O Allah! Forgive us, our parents and all Muslims.

And may Allah bless our prophet Muhammad, his family and all his companions.

Abdul-Malik al-Qasim
“40 lessons for those who found Ramadan”
Translated by the site “Why Islam?”

فتاوى شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية في ليلة القدر وعشر الأواخر من رمضان

They asked Sheikh ul-Islam, may Allah be pleased with him, about the Night of Destiny. Then he was imprisoned in a fortress on the mountain, this was in 706 AH.

And the sheikh replied: All praise be to Allah. The Night of Destiny is one of the last ten nights of Ramadan, as it is reliably reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He said: "She is among the last ten nights of Ramadan" .

1. And she is an odd night.

2. An odd night can be counted from the beginning of the month, and then the twenty-first, twenty-third, twenty-fifth, twenty-seventh and twenty-ninth nights are expected. Also, an odd night can be counted from the end of the month, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “... to the ninth from the end, to the seventh from the end, to the fifth from the end, to the third from the end” .

3. Therefore, if there are thirty days in a month, then even nights fall under this count. And the twenty-second night will be the ninth night from the end, the twenty-fourth night the seventh night from the end. This is how Abu Said al-Khudri explained it in an authentic hadith, and this is how the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, established it in relation to this month.

If there are twenty-nine days in a month, then the counting from the end coincides with the counting from the beginning. And since this is the case, the believer should seek it (the night of predestination) on all the last ten nights. As the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Look for her in the last ten nights" .

4. And it is more expected in the last seven nights. And it is even more likely on the twenty-seventh night, since Ubey ibn Ka'b swore that it was the twenty-seventh night. They asked him: "How did you know this?" He replied: “According to the sign that the Messenger of Allah told us about. He told us that the day after this night the sun rises without emitting rays.".

5. This is the sign that Ubey ibn Ka'b reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in a famous hadith. About its signs it is also conveyed that this night is clean and bright, quiet and calm, neither cold nor hot.

6. It happens that Allah Almighty reveals this night to some people in a dream or in reality, and the person sees its light. Or he sees someone who tells him that this is the Night of Predestination. And sometimes a person feels an insight that this night is the Night of Predestination. And Allah Almighty knows everything better.

Asked: Which night is better: the Night of Predestination or the Night of Ascension (Isra wal Miraj) of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?

Sheikh ul-Islam replied, that the Night of Ascension is better in relation to the prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and in relation to the community the Night of Predestination is better. Indeed, on the Night of Ascension, the destiny of the prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is greater than on the Night of Predestination. And the share of the Muslim community is greater on the Night of Predestination than on the Night of Ascension. The share of Muslims in the night of ascension is also great, but the greatest honor and highest position belonged on this night to the one who was ascended.

Asked Sheikh about the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah and the last ten days of Ramadan: which of them are better?

Sheikh ul-Islam replied: These ten days of Dhul-Hijjah are better than the ten days of Ramadan, and the last ten nights of Ramadan are better than the nights of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

Ibn al-Qayyim said: “If someone worthy considers how insightful this answer is, he will find it convincing and complete. After all, there are no days in which Allah loves more than the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah, including: the day of Arafah, the day of sacrifice, the day of Tarwiya (the day the Hajj rituals begin).
As for the last ten nights of Ramadan, these are the nights that should be enlivened (by worship). The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, revived (worship) all of them, and among them was the night, which is better than a thousand months.
And if someone answers this question with a different explanation, then it will be impossible for him to substantiate his answer with reliable evidence.”.
