First of all, we need to choose the fabric for our clothing bunny. Most often, craftswomen choose linen, cotton or fleece for tildes - depending on what the future toy should be. In addition, for cutting and sewing a tilde bunny we need:
- wire 1.5 mm thick;
- stuffing material (holofiber, padding polyester or other);
- chalk, paper, pencil, scissors;
- threads, needles.

- Print/translate the pattern onto paper and cut it out. We fold the fabric in two layers, with the front side on the inside. It is advisable to sweep the material in advance or pin it with needles so that the bottom layer does not fidget.
- We place the patterns on the fabric and trace them. We cut out the ears separately - in hares they are usually double-sided, so the fabric for inside we select it so that it subsequently matches the suit.
- Now you need to sew the parts on the machine, leaving small areas, through which the toy can then be stuffed.
- After this, we take out the basting and cut out the resulting parts, retreating from the seam by 5-7 mm. It is necessary to make notches at the folds so that the fabric does not bulge when we turn it inside out.
- We turn out the parts of the hare using a pencil, insert the wire into the legs and ears (since we are sewing a bunny, the ears should stick out). The wire must be inserted so that it passes not only through the legs, but also through the body (in the case of ears, through the head).
- We stuff it carefully. We try to stuff tightly, but at the same time leave a little space near the hole to make it more convenient to sew the parts together.
- Using a hidden seam we sew the arms, legs and ears of our bunny to the body.
- We make a nose, mouth, eyebrows, eyes - they can be drawn or embroidered, sewn on ready-made ones or selected beads - and blush on the cheeks. The bunny is ready!
Sometimes the details are completely covered up. In this case, they are stuffed through special slits, which are then sewn up.
In addition, you can easily do without wire. If the tilde is made of fleece, its legs are sewn on the side and stuffed very tightly, then it stands perfectly well without wire. The ears will stick out if the fabric, on the contrary, is quite rigid and folded at the base.
Clothes and accessories for the tilde bunny
Naturally, everyone who sews such a toy wants to dress it up to their own taste. You will see for yourself what exactly suits your hare as soon as he is ready. Many craftsmen write that each tilde doll has its own character, and if the clothes that were originally planned do not fit (this happens!), you have to redo everything.
If your bunny is a girl, pantaloons, a sundress, a dress, a jacket or a hat will look great. Choose for dresses like plain fabrics like chintz, and more festive options - for example, crepe-satin, satin, organza. Lace, satin ribbons, and braid are usually used for decoration.
By the way, a girl bunny just needs accessories! A bouquet of flowers, a miniature toy, a handbag or a doll mirror - your fashionista should have something that will highlight her individuality. Some people add hairstyles, braid their tilde or experiment with jewelry.

Do-it-yourself tilde hare: preparing the fabric
First, let's prepare the fabric for cutting. The easiest way is to take white cotton fabric, preferably calico (it is denser) and dye it, since it is pure White color not typical for tilde-style toys; they usually have a coffee or honey tint.
The dye must be natural, and therefore for this purpose we will take coffee or tea. Let's brew the cheapest ground coffee or thicker black tea (you can get by with instant coffee and tea bags). For you, the main thing is color. Add a couple of spoons of PVA glue to the strained drink and mix everything well. Without waiting for the solution to cool, feel free to soak a piece of calico in this liquid - let it remain there until the dye has cooled.
We take out the fabric, lightly wring it out and, straightening it, hang it to dry. Carefully iron the dried but still slightly damp fabric with a hot iron. And only now you can start cutting.
How to sew a tilde hare: materials and tools
To make a cute tilde hare you will need:
calico dyed in the manner described above;
colored cotton fabric with small patterns (checks, stripes, flowers) for eared clothing;
padding polyester or other suitable filler;
threads to match the fabric for stitching and floss for embroidering the nose and eyes;
tools: sewing machine (you can also sew by hand), needle, scissors, a long thin stick with a rounded end for turning parts inside out, tracing paper for a pattern.
Below are patterns for our life-size tilde hares, i.e. for two bunnies - larger and smaller. To open the pattern in full size, click on it. This way you can save the picture and print it. Another option is to open the pattern in A4 size, attach tracing paper or a sheet of white paper to the monitor and carefully, without pressing too much, trace the visible contours.
We transfer the details of the hare patterns onto tracing paper.
Cutting fabrics for toys and clothing
Having folded the fabric (calico) along the grain thread in half, put the patterns cut from tracing paper on it and trace them with a pencil. At the same time, do not forget to take into account that when cutting out we will have to allow seam allowances (0.5-0.7 cm, ideally the width of the foot sewing machine), so be sure to leave space between the pieces on the fabric.
Cut out the clothing pieces for the bunnies. They will be dressed in sundresses, cropped pants and Panama hats. The sizes of sundresses are very arbitrary, but we focus on the following numbers:
– 20*11 cm – for a large hare;
– 12*7 cm – for a small bunny;
- bibs and straps of sundresses can be tailored during the work process, trying them on directly on the hares themselves.
For the inside of the ears we select a delicate pink fabric, maybe polka dots or checkered.
Tilda hare: sewing master class
Now you can start sewing. To prevent the parts from moving relative to each other, we use pins. We grind the parts, leaving holes for turning.
Let's fold the bottoms of sundresses and trousers, finish the edges, stitch the panties (first the seat seam, then the step seam).
Before turning the stitched parts inside out, you need to either thoroughly cut off the seam allowances or make notches in the convex and concave places. We turn out the stitched parts using a thin stick or any other suitable tool (you can use a thick knitting needle or scissors with narrow blades).
We begin to fill the inverted parts with pieces of padding polyester, pushing them first with the sharp tips of scissors, and then with a wooden stick. We stuff it tightly so that there are no uneven spots or bumps. When filling the arms and legs, we mean that there should be 1.5-2 cm left from the padding polyester to the hole for eversion. This is necessary so that finished form the arms and legs were free to bend and the tilde hares could sit.
We sew the legs to the body, trying to make the seam invisible.
We put the pants on the hare, fold their top edge inward and sew the edge to the body, making small tucks of the excess fabric.
Now it’s the turn of the hands.
And then the ears, the ironed parts of which need to be sewn to the head from the inside.
After this, you can put on a sundress, sew the straps onto the buttons, and sew the back with hidden stitches.
There are only a few touches left: we embroider the tilde hares with black thick threads for eyes and dots (this can be done using knots), and with brown threads for noses. Lightly brown the bunnies’ cheeks (an almost indispensable touch for all tilde dolls): powder cotton swab with crushed red pencil lead.
We put hats on the tilde hares, carefully folding the ears into folds. When finished, the height of the large and small doll is 22 cm and 16 cm, respectively.

This style was born in 1999, it was at this time that the designer made her first doll.
The idea was liked by fans of creativity, adults and children. Currently, Tony publishes books, opens stores and creates not only dolls, but also unique decorative elements.
