Job description:
It's quite easy to sew. A cap is a circle of large diameter, gathered around the perimeter with an elastic band, it looks like a beret. To make it hold its shape better, I inserted a layer of padding polyester. I embroidered the top with rectangular sequins. I sewed a twig in the middle, it’s an ordinary cylinder filled with padding polyester, you can also insert a wire inside, then the twig will bend in the direction you like. From the same material as the twig (you need to use fabric that is dense enough to hold its shape well), I cut out oblong leaves. I embroidered veins on the leaves (you can do without them, but it’s more elegant with embroidery). Now the leaves can be sewn around the branch. Now the hat is ready. Making a collar is even easier. We cut out the leaves, do embroidery and sew them to any green decorative braid. You need 2 meters of braid so that the “strawberry mustache” hangs down.
The flower is also assembled in parts, the petals are cut out from padding polyester, the middle is a padding polyester ball covered with yellow material. The flower is on a pin, it can be attached anywhere, or you can sew on a braid and throw it over your shoulder, like a handbag. You can also use a leaf ladybug plant, they are already sold ready-made in flower shops..
Character: A living berry from the magical Land of Fantasy must certainly be distinguished by its kindness and cheerful character, and therefore it has a lot of friends.
Costume: Our strawberry is dressed in a white elegant blouse, a collar made of leaves and a red skirt with black “seeds”.
Blouse you can easily
Sew the shoulder and side seams of the blouse and overcast them. Along the dotted line indicated in the drawing, stitch the elastic band, previously cut to a length equal to the circumference of the child’s forearm, stitch the bottom seam of the sleeves and overcast. Gather the sleeves to create a “flashlight” effect. Fold the seam allowance at the back of the blouse and iron it. pre-sew the edges. Finish the neckline of the blouse with facings. Sew on a loop and button. Fold the bottom of the blouse and the bottom of the sleeves.skirt can be made from red fabric. Cut out a rectangle from the fabric, as shown in Fig. 15 “Strawberry Costume Drawing.” Sew “seed” appliques onto the fabric in the form of triangles, base up.
Note: The applique can be stitched using a zigzag stitch or regular machine stitch, and can also be simply hand sewn or glued on.
Fold the fabric crosswise face to face and stitch along the side seam. Overcast the side seam. Fold the top of the skirt at a distance sufficient to thread the elastic through. Fold the bottom of the skirt. Thread the elastic through the top of the skirt.
Collar made from green “grass” colored fabric. Make a collar pattern, as shown in Fig. 15 “Strawberry Costume Drawing.” Transfer to fabric and cut out. If the fabric is fraying along the cuts, you can melt the edges with a lit match or overcast. For greater believability, we recommend stitching an applique of a darker green color onto the collar sheets or drawing the veins with a felt-tip pen or gouache (see Fig. 15). Sew a loop and a traveler to the back of the collar.
Mask: To add mystery, we suggest that the little coquette wear a half mask, that is, a mask that hides half of her face. Cut a mask out of thick paper and paint it green. You can cover the mask with green velvet. Cut out berries from thick paper and paint them. Take thin wires 8-10 cm long, thread one end through small holes at a distance of 1 cm from the top edge of the mask, previously made with a needle, and twist. Attach the berries to the other end in the same way. Place the berries in this way on 6-7 wire rods. Bend the wire back and forth. With every movement the berries will sway.
Hairstyle: Gather your hair at the top of your head in the form of a ponytail and secure with a green elastic band.
Most festive events in kindergarten and school require a carnival costume. Often, parents prefer to order fairy and snowflake outfits for their daughters from rental agencies or buy them in stores. However, many original and stylish things for the holiday are easy to make yourself. We offer detailed instructions about how to sew carnival costumes For of different ages girls quickly and easily with their own hands using the example of fox, princess and berry costumes.
We sew various carnival costumes for girls with our own hands
Fox costume.Not a single holiday is complete without a fox costume, children's performance or a matinee. To make it, you will need very little time and unnecessary red fabric.
Required materials:- any red or orange fabric;
- white felt or fleece;
- headband;
- threads;
- padding polyester in the form of balls;
- scissors, needles, threads, pins;
- sewing machine.
We cut out a sundress from red fabric. The easiest way to do this is to trace with a pencil any dress or sundress of a suitable size. We cut out two parts, putting 1.5-2 allowances on each side. The lower part of the sundress can be made curly. We sew the product on a machine, overcast the seams. From white felt or fleece, cut out a shaped chanterelle breast according to the template and sew it on with a hidden seam.
We cut out a tail of any shape, sew it, turn it inside out and decorate the tip with an insert of white felt. We loosely stuff the tail with padding polyester, tighten the hole and secure it at waist level in the back of the sundress.
We make ears, for which we cut out 4 triangles from orange fabric, sew them together and fasten them to the headband. We cut out two smaller triangles from white felt and sew them onto the ears with a blind stitch.
Princess costume.One of the simplest, but very effective carnival costumes for girls is the princess costume. It is universal; based on the elements of this outfit, you can create many various options costumes for girls.
Required materials:- tulle of medium hardness about 3 meters long;
- wide elastic band;
- multi-colored felt;
- headband;
- threads, pins, needles;
- beads, rhinestones, decorative buttons.
The princess costume consists of a fluffy tulle skirt and a crown on the headband. To make a skirt, you need to cut the tulle into identical ribbons 10-15 cm wide and a length equal to twice the length of the future skirt plus 5-6 cm of reserve. You will need at least 50 such stripes: the greater the number, the more fluffy and beautiful the skirt will be.
Cut the elastic to the required length and connect the ends with a hidden seam. Fold the tulle ribbon in half and tie it with an elastic band, carefully straightening the knot on it. Tie all other ribbons in the same way so that the elastic material is not visible under the tulle. If necessary, trim the bottom of the skirt with scissors, straighten and fluff the ribbons.
To make a crown, you will need a headband of a neutral color without additional decorations and felt of several colors. We cut out a double piece in the form of a crown from felt and fold it in half, covering the headband, as in the photo. We sew the felt along the contour so that the crown sits tightly in the center of the headband.
From felt of a different color, cut out a smaller crown and sew it onto a larger piece. We decorate the headband with rhinestones, beads or decorative buttons at your discretion.
The princess costume can easily be transformed into a fairy costume. To do this, you need to make wings from the remains of tulle and wire, and from felt and an unnecessary pencil - a magic wand, as in the photo above.
For this carnival costume you will need a plain (preferably white) T-shirt or bodysuit, fishnet tights and high-heeled shoes.
Berry costume.A very unusual and funny berry costume is suitable for girls from junior group kindergarten. In it, your baby will become a real star of the holiday!
Required materials:- textured red fabric with convex elements;
- fleece red and green;
- filler (synthetic fluff or synthetic padding in balls);
- threads, needles;
- headband;
- foil;
- lace or braid;
- sewing machine.
Cut out a rectangle from textured fabric and red fleece. Its length should be equal to the expected length of the suit plus 8-10 cm of margin. The width is arbitrary; it must be taken into account that the fabric will shrink significantly. We machine sew the side seams of the parts, leaving holes for the armholes. We combine the front textured fabric and fleece.
Loosely fill the space between the fabrics with filler. Along the top and bottom we make a drawstring with holes into which the lace will be inserted. We process the armholes. We cut out several triangular leaves from green fleece and sew them overlapping with several stitches along the entire perimeter of the collar.
Using a safety pin, insert a lace or braid into the drawstrings along the top and bottom of the product. The lace will be tightened on the already worn suit.
Let's start making the headdress. To do this, roll a sausage out of foil and line it with green fleece. This will be the petiole of the future berry. Cut out several triangular leaves and fasten them in a circle. We sew the resulting rosette on the side of the hairband, and attach foil and fleece on top. We cut out several spirals from the remnants of fleece, form them into curls (berry tendrils) and sew them to the leaves. If desired, you can decorate the headdress with beads or rhinestones.
The berry carnival costume is ready! All that remains is to choose leggings and shoes in a neutral color.

Masquerades are real holidays for children, and it doesn’t matter in honor of what event such an unusual event is held. Every child takes great pleasure in trying on outfits and portraying their favorite characters.
What should you consider when choosing a suit?
And now the festive holiday is coming, and it’s time to think about a fancy dress. Every parent is advised to remember that the outfit, first of all, should be to the child’s liking. You should not force your daughter or son to put on an unloved costume, even if his choice is made in favor of an ordinary mask depicting a character for whom the child feels sympathy.
The second recommendation is to pay attention to the comfort of the suit; it should not be dangerous for the child. It is necessary to make sure in a timely manner that the baby moves easily and freely in the outfit, and that the fabric or other materials are not flammable. Protruding or protruding elements that perform a decorative function are not allowed, because The child may get caught on something and be seriously injured.
Some children feel out of place when dressing fancy dress. The thing is that the material may be “prickly”, or the child has outgrown the beautiful outfit a little. In the latter case, it is recommended to alter clothes according to the baby’s figure. In order not to have to do sewing several hours before leaving home for a festive event, it is best to do the fitting in advance.
Features of outfits for outdoor celebrations
Children's entertainment does not always take place indoors. If everything should happen outside, then you need to think about how warm the suit should be, as well as how to protect the child from unexpected precipitation so that the clothes remain dry.
The basis of a carnival outfit can be a sports jacket and pants, and in the summer they can be perfectly replaced by jeans and a T-shirt. It will be enough to sew a few original elements to the base or draw with felt-tip pens. This option is inexpensive and very convenient, and it won’t be a pity if dirt stains or several holes appear on it, because children rarely care about the safety of things.
There are many options for outfits for the New Year’s celebration; it’s worth taking a closer look at the strawberry costume for a girl.
What should be on hand
- green satin fabric;
- red satin fabric;
- satin fabric yellow;
- green bias binding;
- buttons;
- buttons.
Stages of work
Before sewing a strawberry costume with your own hands, you need to remove the pattern; any child’s clothing will do for this. Some use dresses or T-shirts.
The back piece should be divided in the center, this is where the clasp will be located. The top of the outfit is made of three parts covered with green fabric. It is important to remember to leave seam allowances.
At the next stage, the details of the dress are sewn together using side and shoulder seams. For the seam that will be located on the back, you need to retreat 10 cm from the collar. Then the sleeves are sewn to the outfit.
There is a cutout on the back side so that the head can easily fit into the neck. Here, an overlock or zigzag option is used for processing; it goes along the edges of the seam located at the back. Each half is sheathed separately. They then separate into different sides, secured with pins and stitched with a regular seam that runs along the edge of the neckline.
Bias binding in children's costume The strawberry is needed for lining the sleeves and neckline. A button or button is sewn to the back of the last part. To decorate the top of the outfit, you can use a collar or come up with something of your own.
The final work on the dress will be the creation of sepals, which will give the costume more natural look, similar to strawberry.
How to make sepals?
First, triangular-shaped decorative elements are cut out from a paper base. Everyone decides for themselves how many of these blanks are needed, but the decorations will look more original if they are made a little gathered.
Here again you will need bias tape, which is used to sew triangles transferred to the fabric. You need to trim on each side. Then the sepals are stitched onto sewing machine straight seam. The result should be a series of elements that are evenly assembled.
The decorations are distributed along the belt of the strawberry costume, secured with pins and finally secured with a machine seam.
For the dress itself, it is best to choose a sun flare shape. Here you will need red fabric, on which a circle is cut out with a diameter of ½ the waist in circumference plus 2 hem lengths. The calculation is made as follows: if the waist is 60 cm, and the length of the skirt is planned to be 30, then the circle should have a diameter of 60:2 + 30x2 = 90 cm. A hole is made in the center of the circle with a diameter of ½ the waist in girth.
The hem is sewn to the top of the strawberry suit and finished with an overlocker.
How can you decorate a dress?
The skirt may remain red, but the outfit will look more original if you add golden grains. Here you will need to make small drop-shaped paper blanks. The templates themselves are transferred to yellow material, after which they need to be cut out. Fire is used to process the edges so that the threads do not fray. Then the grains are evenly distributed over the skirt, secured with pins, and finally sewn on using a machine or simply by hand.
It’s very easy to make a New Year’s strawberry costume by using tinsel for decoration. suitable color, which is located on the sleeves and along the hem of the dress.
