On the table there are scales with two bowls and 9 identical coins. One of them is fake, its weight will be less than the others. How to determine it with just 2 weighings?

Answer: When weighing for the first time, you should put 3 coins on one bowl and the same amount on the other. If the scales are balanced, then the fake is among the last 3 pieces. During the second weighing, you need to take two coins and put them on the bowls. If they weigh the same, then the third coin is not real. If one turns out to be easier, then it is a fake. But when, after the first weighing, one of the piles turned out to be less in weight, then the desired coin was among those three. It must be calculated using the principle of second weighing.

The picture shows the guys having a rest. Look carefully at the picture and try to answer the questions below. You need to find the answers to all the questions by looking at the picture and carefully reading the questions. Justify your answer to each question.

1. How many tourists live in this camp?
2. When did they arrive here: today or a few days ago?
3. What did they use to come here?
4. How far is it from the camp to the nearest village?
5. Where does the wind blow from: from the north or from the south?
6. What time of day is it now?
7. Where did Shura go?
8. Who was on duty yesterday? (Call by name)
9. What day is it today in what month?

Answer: 1. There are 4 tourists living in the camp, this can be seen from the number of spoons and plates laid out before eating.

2. They arrived here yesterday or even earlier. After all, today is the 8th, and the duty schedule starts on the 7th. In addition, below is the question: who was on duty yesterday? Also, during the rest period the spider managed to weave a web next to the tent.

3. By boat. The oars from the boat are leaning against a pine tree.

4. No, not far: a chicken came into the camp from the village.

5. The wind blows from the south. This can be seen from the direction of the flag on the tent and from the angle of the fire flame. On the south side the pines have large branches.

One of the boys is rummaging through Kolya’s backpack, let’s assume that this is Kolya. You can see a camera tripod in Vasya’s backpack, which means Vasya is the one standing behind the pine tree with the camera. Shura, as is already known, went after butterflies. So today Petya is on duty at the camp: he is standing by the fire. Therefore, judging by the schedule, Kolya was on duty yesterday.

9. Today Petya is on duty, so today is the 8th. The month is most likely August, since the guys have watermelon for breakfast, and watermelons ripen in August. September is the start of school, so it’s not suitable.

Here is all the information that I could find: first he flew to Tokyo, then to Antananarivo, then he was in Yerevan, the cities of Sanaa, Nairobi and Canberra, and then his traces are lost.

The detective scratched his head - is it easy to find a person moving around the world? But suddenly it dawned on him:

8 questions for attentiveness

One more Soviet mystery. Only 4% of people can answer all 8 questions correctly.

Looking at the picture, answer the following questions:
1. What time of day is shown in the picture?
2. Early spring or does the drawing depict late autumn?
3. Is this river navigable?
4. In which direction does the river flow: south, north, west or east?
5. Is the river deep near the bank where the boat is standing?
6. Is there a bridge across the river nearby?
7. Is the railway far from here?
8. Do cranes fly north or south?

Answer: 1. Having examined the picture, you see that sowing is going on in the field (a tractor with a seeder and carts of grain). As you know, sowing is done in the fall or early spring. Autumn sowing takes place when there are still leaves on the trees. In the picture, the trees and bushes are completely bare. It should be concluded that the artist depicted early spring.
2. In spring, cranes fly from south to north.
3. Buoys, that is, signs marking the fairway, are placed only on navigable rivers.
The buoy is mounted on a wooden float, whose angle is always directed against the flow of the river.
4. Having determined by the flight of the cranes where north is, and paying attention to the position of the triangle with the buoy, it is not difficult to decide that in this place the river flows from north to south.
5. The direction of the shadow from the tree shows that the sun is in the southeast. In spring, on this side of the sky the sun appears at 8 - 10 o'clock in the morning.
6. A railway conductor with a lantern is heading towards the boat; he obviously lives somewhere near the station.
7. The bridges and stairs going down to the river, as well as a boat with passengers, show that constant transportation across the river has been established in this place. It is needed here because there is no bridge nearby.
8. On the shore you see a boy with a fishing rod. Only when fishing in deep places can you move the float so far from the hook.

Riddle No. 5360.

This riddle was presented to Inspector Lestrade by none other than Sherlock Holmes. The famous Scotland Yard inspector failed, as a result of which he needed the help of Doctor Watson. Can you do it without help? The riddle is not easy, but it has a solution, and only one.

One day, not on the most beautiful morning, the morning newspapers reported the murder of a famous writer. The body was found near the celebrity's home, twenty miles from Southampton. Since the writer was a close friend of Holmes, the decision to go and find the killer arose immediately.

Watson, I’m leaving on the first train, and you’re waiting for a letter from me,” the detective said immediately after reading the note. “To avoid being recognized, I will put on make-up and check into a local hotel under a different name.” Be ready and come at the first signal. Yes, and invite Lestrade. A walk to the sea and a new solved case won't hurt him. In the letter I will definitely tell you who the killer is.

Of course, my friend,” Dr. Watson readily responded, “I look forward to your message.”

That same morning the detective boarded a train to Hampshire, and a few days later a letter arrived from him with the following content:

“Dear doctor, I hasten to describe my life in this quiet land. I settled not far from Southampton on the very coast, in a small hotel. The owner is a lovely man, with the help of his wife and daughter he manages his establishment perfectly. My room is beautiful, the windows look straight to the shore. In the morning I go down 24 steps from my second floor, then another 161 steps - and I’m on the shore. Around twelve I return for lunch, and again to the shore. For example, there are only 27 in this village. residents and as many as 67 dogs. Come, my friend, and we will increase the population to 29 people. The weather is magnificent now. True, yesterday there was a four-point storm, but today everything has calmed down. Join me on my walks and, I can assure you, you will not regret it. At thirty-nine years old, this is the first time I have had such a great rest.

Your friend and colleague, Thomas Gosport."

What sea? What kind of dogs? - Inspector Lestrade seemed outraged. - Did he go there to rest?

Let me, inspector,” the doctor took the letter in his hands and after a few minutes said worriedly. - Everything is clear, we need to go urgently, the killer has been discovered, this is...

Having deciphered the letter, solve Holmes's riddle, which was too tough for Lestrade.

Who is the killer of the famous writer?

The game continues like this all day. The prisoners will win if one of the prisoners leaves the special punishment cell and says “all the prisoners were already here” and this will be true, otherwise, if this is not true, the game ends.

Riddle about the queen and her son

This riddle is for lovers of history, all kinds of antiquities, epics and legends. But others will also be able to find something interesting for themselves while solving the historical puzzle.

In the distant, distant gray times
The queen with a proud name lived alone.
She lived without knowing troubles, dreaming only about
To give birth to an heir under the royal tent.

Many days passed in my mother’s fervent prayers,
Fate, hitherto cold, suddenly smiled at her.
Among the unmown steppes, which know no peaks,
Under the sun of the sultry south, a royal son was born.

To please a woman’s whim, they didn’t wait long:
They decided to name the heir after her.
Since then, the steppes have been ruled under one name
An arrogant mistress and the sovereign's son.

But then came the harsh, hard times,
Foreign tribes moved to the lands of the south.
The bloody invaders, listening to the majority,
The prayer was sung loudly to the iron-deity.

For the glory of the terrible god, a desperate army
I decided to give the heir an iron name.
Years have passed under the banner of the iron king,
Suddenly the dawn dawned with new rays.

The metal has rusted and turned to dust,
And the royal heir was almost left with fear.
He found a new name, forgetting his own mother,
Another queen decided to call herself after him.

In the steppes forever mowed they live together,
Forgetting forever and ever about your name.
But on the boy's birthday, paths meet,
The memory comes back to them, only to go away.

Try to remember the heroes of the riddle and say their names. Moreover, the answer must list all the names of the son and one more name of his mother, which is not mentioned here.

The Riddle of the Five Ships

Five large ships left the sea at once,
Every hundred sailors took on board,
And also the captain - and disappeared into the distance,
To arrive somewhere at the desired port.

The storm struck, threatening to take lives.
Everyone quickly fell to prayer,
But the brave hero decided to save them:
He decided to count all his friends.

And then he said the magic word,
And they managed to save the sailors.
I wrote this spell here,
And you need to find him.

A little hint: in the riddle you need to find the hidden word. It’s definitely there, you just have to see it. It does not need to be chosen from the words written below. It must be found, it is dissolved in a mystery, and your task is to collect it bit by bit.

Thomas and the Seven Brothers

A long time ago, I don’t remember where,
Once upon a time Thomas lived.
He spent all his days at work,
He had a great mind.

He gave children to the world
And, having found peace,
He blessed them on their way,
For a long, difficult one.

With your nose proudly raised to the sky,
The first brother steps forward
Proud from toe to toe,
He is only rich in this.

The second is envious of everything
What does he see around him?
It's like everyone owes him.
Enough about him.

Their third brother is a big walker,
He knows a lot about girls.
He acknowledges one lesson:
I am a wolf in the female herd!

The fourth is as evil as a hundred devils
Greedy fifth brother,
And in his idle laziness
I'm glad about the sixth despondency.

But there was another son
At old Thomas's.
What's his name? Just give it time
We will find out.

Don't forget these brothers
And if you suddenly meet, - How old are you? 2. Are they familiar with home economics?
3. Is the river navigable?
4. In what direction does it flow?
5. What is the depth and width of the river at the nearest riffle?
6. How long will it take for the laundry to dry?
7. Will the sunflower grow much longer?
8. Is the tourist camp set up far from the city?
9. What kind of transport did the guys get here?
10. Do people like dumplings in these places?
11. Is the newspaper fresh? (Newspaper dated August 22)
12. What city is the plane flying to?

The riddle is very complex; in order to correctly answer all the questions you need to understand some aspects, and of course you need to use logic and attentiveness.

Answer: 1. Obviously, recently: experienced tourists will not pitch a tent in the hollow.
2. In all likelihood, not very good: the fish is not cleaned from the head, it is inconvenient to sew on a button with too long a thread, you have to cut a branch with an ax on a block of wood.
3. Shipable. This is evidenced by the navigation mast standing on the shore.
4. From left to right. Why? See the answer to the next question.
5. A navigation sign on the river bank is installed in a strictly defined manner. If you look from the side of the river, then on the right along the stream there are signs showing the width of the river at the nearest riffle, and on the left there are signs showing the depth. The depth of the river is 125 cm (a rectangle is 1 m, a large circle is 20 cm and a small circle is 5 cm), the width of the river is 30 m (a large circle is 20 m and 2 small circles are 5 m each). Such signs are installed 500 m before the roll.
6. Not for long. There is a wind: the floats of the fishing rods were carried against the current.
7. The sunflower is obviously broken and stuck in the ground, since its “cap” is not facing the sun, and the broken plant will not grow anymore.
8. No further than 100 km, at a greater distance the antenna would have a more complex design.
9. The guys, in all likelihood, have bicycles: there is a bicycle wrench on the ground.
10. No. They love dumplings here. The mud hut, the pyramidal poplar and the high altitude of the sun above the horizon (63° - in the shadow of the sunflower) show that this is a Ukrainian landscape.
11. Judging by the height of the sun above the horizon, this takes place in June. For Kyiv, for example, 63° is the highest angular height of the sun. This happens only at noon on June 22. The newspaper is dated August - so it is at least from last year.
12. Not at all. The plane is carrying out agricultural work.
