New Year's crafts from pine cones. DIY Christmas tree decorations made from pine cones

And of course, don’t forget about the beautiful Christmas tree. Previously, I devoted a separate article to this topic. And now I propose to make a Christmas tree from pine cones yourself, with your own hands.

This is a very exciting activity. And most importantly, you will get a great result. Of course, everything needs to be done in the family circle, because this family holiday. So call the kids, moms and dads, and let’s start crafting!

The most common method of creating a Christmas tree is gluing pine cones to a cone. The fastest way to make it is from thick cardboard (A4 sheet). There are several options for its formation. I'll show you two of the neatest ones.

For the first method, let's take:

  • cardboard,
  • scotch,
  • pencil,
  • stapler,
  • scissors,
  • centimeter tape (compass).

Take a sheet of cardboard. Using a measuring tape or compass, measure the short side of the cardboard.

Then we apply the beginning of the ruler to one corner and from there we mark the desired size along the entire width of the cardboard. We connect the marks with a pencil - we get a semicircle. Let's cut out this part.

We roll it into a cone and fasten the seam in the wide part with a stapler. We connect the top with tape.

Now we are making the bottom of our Christmas tree. To do this, take the cone and place it on the remaining part of the cardboard. Cut out the resulting circle and pierce a small hole in its center with scissors.

Then use tape to glue the bottom to the base of the tree. We glue the bottom tightly so that the cone does not wobble or move to the sides.

Insert a sushi stick, knitting needles or skewers into the hole.

For the second method, let's take:

  • sheet of cardboard,
  • compass,
  • glue,
  • ruler,
  • scissors.

Using a compass, measure the narrow side of the cardboard and set this value aside from the corner.

Cut out the resulting part.

Now use a ruler to measure 5 ml from one straight side of the part and mark this line with a pencil. We will bend it.

We make two oblique cuts at the top and bottom so that the edge can easily curl inward.

Then we coat this part with hot or any other glue and roll the cone so that the adhesive part catches on the other side.

That's it, the cone is ready.

Now you can attach the pine cones to the hot glue. For this, any kind of wood, spruce or pine, can be used. But pine ones are longer and are not as convenient to decorate with as spruce ones.

Glue the material onto the entire surface of the cone.

If you add decor to the cones, then you can glue them in a chaotic order, but if you use only this material, then follow the order of the rows. You also need to glue the cone on all sides at once, distributing the material over the entire surface. Otherwise, you simply may not have enough cones.

Options for using cones:

  1. Glue whole cones.
  2. Cut the pine cone lengthwise with pruning shears and glue the halves together. This is convenient when there is little material or you like the clear shape of the tree.
  3. Cut the pine cone crosswise and glue its parts.
  4. Gut the pine cone into scales or inflorescences and use them.

The bottom is always glued first. Follow the rows, so the craft will look neater. Work your way from the bottom wide edge of the cone to the top.

Then all that remains is to decorate it.

If you want to make a stand, then for this purpose you can use a flower pot, small flat jars, the bottom of plastic bottle, caps from hairspray or hair foam, etc. In order for the stand to hold the Christmas tree well, it can be filled with alabaster, gypsum, polyurethane foam or plasticine, and iron coins for weighting.

You can also use foam cones. You can also trim them yourself if you have a piece of the required width on hand or buy them at craft and creative stores.

To prevent the cone from showing through its whiteness, cover it with corrugated or craft paper. Or you can wrap it in burlap.

And look how you can assemble a Christmas tree on a cone from the scales of a cone and its branches. For example, from pine.

From spruce trees. We divide the cones into scales or small inflorescences. We begin to glue them onto the cone using hot glue.

If you have scales, then you need to do this from the bottom up. Lay out the scales in rows. If you just have small parts, then you can glue them from top to bottom and generally randomly.

This is what happens.

And in this master class you can clearly see that parts of the cone are used.

Of course, this is a very painstaking task, but also very interesting!

DIY sisal Christmas tree for kindergarten

Sisal decor is very simple and beautiful to make. This fiber is now sold in decorative and craft stores. And it comes in completely different shades. Balls are made from it very simply - rolled by hand. Therefore, such a craft can be made with a child and taken to kindergarten.

Let's take:

  • paper cone,
  • several types of sisal,
  • hot gun,
  • bumps.

We separate small pieces of fiber from sisal with our hands and roll them into balls.

We try to make them the same.

Then we attach the cones to the cone in different places, leaving room for the sisal balls. We glue our balls into this space.

You can decorate with beads, ribbon bows, Christmas tree beads, decorative berries, etc.

Christmas tree made of pine cones and balls

Now let's look at what else you can do to diversify your cones. Certainly Christmas balls. To do this, you need to take slightly smaller balls than cones. It looks more elegant this way. The sizes should be chosen miniature so that they do not spoil general shape Christmas trees

And we do everything as usual. Look at the instructions.

Balls can be glued to a cone or placed on branches.

Look at how the decor was placed on the base in an original way.

You can also play with shapes.

Select the balls to match the overall tone of the craft. Bright ones look more elegant, but pastel ones are more stylish.

Balls go well with garland and other New Year elements - gifts, inscriptions.

New Year's craft "Christmas tree" made of pine cones and walnuts

Shell walnut very often used in crafts. It has a pleasant relief and is also small in size. But I suggest using the entire nut, because we will be making the Christmas tree without a base cone.

Let's take:

  • walnuts,
  • cones,
  • thermal gun with glue sticks.

We will not use a cone, but will simply start gluing the pine cones to each other, forming a circle.
The biggest fruits go to the bottom.

Starting from the second row, we slightly reduce the number of cones and also alternate them with nuts.

And we do it row by row, keeping the cone shape.

Attach a pine cone to the top. Don't skimp on glue. The structure should hold up well. More glue may be needed for nuts.

If desired, the Christmas tree can be painted with enamel from a spray bottle or decorative elements can be added.

Ideas for Christmas trees made from pine cones and oranges (dried citrus fruits)

Nowadays everything eco-friendly is in fashion. What can we build on this trend? dried fruits - candied fruits, shells, pods and sprigs of spices (cinnamon, vanilla, star anise, cloves).

But also in winter time It's very easy to make candied citrus fruits. Moreover, this is just the orange-tangerine time.

Pieces of lime, tangerine or orange don’t even need to be dried, just slightly dried. This is necessary so that the juice dries and does not flow down the tree. But what kind of aroma comes from it.

It looks very elegant and expressive!

How to make a craft with acorns for the New Year

A very beautiful Christmas tree is obtained if acorns are added to the main material. They have a smooth surface and look beautiful after painting. Usually no one can guess what is added to the pine cones the first time.

Let's take:

  • cone,
  • acorns,
  • cones,
  • thermo gun,
  • paint.

Let's make a cardboard base in advance, as described above. We will not make the bottom or put it in a pot.

Now let's start decorating. We will place all the elements on hot glue.

It turns out to be such a preparation.

If you silver or gild the acorns, it will not be noticeable at all that they are there. It will seem that this Christmas decorations.

Craft for beginners, mini Christmas tree video

I also offer lightweight versions of this green beauty for beginners and small children.

The video details the process of making a Christmas tree from just one piece.

A similar process is shown in this step-by-step photo.

And also some more interesting ideas for you.

I also like this option. It is very original in that the cone “stands” on a cut tree.

Such mini crafts can be an excellent gift for the New Year if made with soul.

And also a very laconic version of the craft. Simple, but with style and taste.

Christmas tree made of pine cones and tinsel for school

A very simple version of crafts made from pine cones and tinsel. It can be done in an hour, and if you get the hang of it, it will take even less time. Even a small schoolboy can handle it. It is important to buy tinsel in combined shades in advance: blue, green, silver, etc.

So let's take:

  • tinsel,
  • cones,
  • polystyrene foam,
  • heat gun,
  • acrylic paint,
  • paper cone.

First, we divide the foam into particles, they will imitate snow. And glue them onto the pine cone. Didn't find the foam? Then skip this moment.

Glue the cones onto the cone in a spiral.

Glue tinsel between them, also in a spiral. You can take one fluffy one or several multi-colored ones, it depends on your desire.

Now we take the most beautiful cone in your opinion and paint it with white acrylic paint.

Glue it to the very top.

Master classes from branches and cones

Now it’s time to see how you can make a Christmas tree with branches. We will look at two master classes. For the first one we need live spruce branches. And for the second, we’ll take a vine or dried tree branches.

For master class No. 1, let's take:

  • flowerpot,
  • cellophane,
  • floral sponge (oasis),
  • spruce or pine branches,
  • cones,
  • tinsel,
  • wire.

You need to put cellophane in the pots. In which we will put a damp sponge. This is necessary so that the branches do not dry out longer. If desired, the flower pots can be decorated with tinsel.

We mark the diameter of the flowerpot and cut out the same size for the oasis so that it fits in the flowerpot.
Now we insert the oasis and give it a cone shape.

We insert branches into it.

We insert the longest branches at the base, then reduce their length. And closer to the top we insert very small and short branches.

We make a loop from the wire and wrap it around the pine cone. Then insert the edge of the wire into the sponge.

For master class No. 2, let's take:

  • branches (vine),
  • thick rope,
  • heat gun,
  • cones,
  • decor

The first step is to make a round base from the branches. To do this we take branches. They should not be overdried, otherwise the circle will not turn out. Therefore, it is better to look for a vine or prepare material in the fall.

Then we take 7 branches of the same length - these are the stiffening ribs of the cone. And we braid them with vines. Can be fixed with hot glue.

We are trying to braid all the stiffening ribs to the very top. If you have thick rope or twine, you can alternate rows with them.

Secure the bottom with hot glue or coat it with silicone. This is important so that our Christmas tree does not unravel back. We also coat it from top to bottom in different places.

Let's move on to the decor. Of course, we can't do without bumps. We glue them in a chaotic order. For decoration, let's take more natural materials: vanilla sprigs, walnut shells, etc.

The final step is to glue beads and other decorative elements. it can also be wrapped in a garland.

Well, it's time to show you many different ideas.

See how you can combine spruce and pine fruits.

Cones are very easy to paint. And if you have paint that is not water-soluble, then the Christmas tree will feel great outside.

Using different arrangements and different sizes of material.

Well, my dears, are you inspired? I am sure that I will receive a positive answer)) All the best and brightness to you!

Good afternoon, today I want to show you what interesting crafts can be made from pine cones for the New Year. Cones are free natural material, which can be used to create original Christmas tree decorations. You can decorate the New Year's table setting with cones. New Year's painted with paints cones can become part of a festive composition in home decor for the New Year. Many crafts are suitable for children. And also ideas for adult design made from pine cones. Let's see what New Year's crafts you can create with your own hands using cones (pine and spruce).

Craft toys

from cones with your own hands.

For those who know how to knit (crochet or knit) or sew from felt, it will not be difficult to create such winter men on skis or on a sled. We make the body of the men from an open pine cone. The head is made from a ping pong ball or a small foam ball, tinted in beige gouache. We make skis from ice cream sticks, ski poles from simple toothpicks, and handles from fluffy wire. Children's New Year's creativity from natural materials is good idea for studying at home or during labor and arts classes at school.

Using the same principle, you can put snowmen or penguins on skis. The snowman's head can be made of a white fur pompom (as in the photo of the New Year's craft below). Or you can make a head out of a foam ball or cotton wool (mix cotton wool with PVA glue and roll it into a round ball, dry it and use it as the head of a pine cone craft snowman.

But the author’s penguins are small (made from a pine cone) and large (made from a long spruce cone). The penguin's head is made of a white foam ball, which is painted with black gouache. Headphones made of wire wrapped in wool thread and two small fur pom-poms. Black penguin wings-legs are cut out of felt or formiam.

You can make a whole flock of penguins wearing red New Year's caps from pine cones. Penguin wings can be made from black plasticine or pieces of tree bark (as in the photo below). Children will love this DIY craft.

What if you glue large pine cones to a round pine cone? round eyes and a hook nose - then we get an OWL. We make wings from felt, or formiam, or from a piece of leather (leatherette). Owl caps can be glued together from bright paper napkins With New Year's drawing(this is how our pine cone owls will look festive).

If you buy pieces of felt (it is sold in sheets, like paper, and you can buy small sheets different colors) – then you can create a whole series of funny New Year’s animals based on the pine cone.

Pendant toys made from pine cones

DIY Christmas tree.

And here’s another idea for the New Year, where pendants are made from pine cones to decorate the New Year tree. Here everything is done according to the principle – at the bottom is a bump, at the top is the character’s head. Big-headed cones - DIY crafts available for activities with children.

The simplest thing is to take a foam ball and stick buttons on it for the nose and eyes. The nose can be cut from a thick piece of orange felt. Or the nose can be sculpted from cotton wool soaked in PVA glue; when it hardens, such PVA wool becomes as hard as wood (a convenient material for crafts, especially since any color of gouache can be mixed into the PVA glue and we get not only a durable part, but also what we need for you colors).

With the help of felt or fluffy wire, wings can appear on the pine cone, and then such a craft can be decorated as an angel or fairy.

New Year characters,

made from pine cones.

If you paint a cone with gouache red, you will get the basis for a Santa Claus craft. It is better not to paint the bump with a brush. And immediately dipping the whole thing into a plastic cup of paint. Pour PVA glue into a glass and add red gouache. We dip the entire cone into this coloring mess.

Important! Save your money. Do not buy PVA in small tubes from office supplies. Go to the construction department of the store and buy PVA in a liter bucket (the price will be 4-7 times cheaper).

Crafts made from pine cones look very nice with added red elements - ribbons, beads, felt. These are great ideas for New Year's children's crafts made from pine cones - simple, quick and easy for a child.

You can also make CHRISTMAS crafts from pine cones and other natural and available materials. Lush ribbons can be used as wings for angels, lace patterns. You can crochet openwork angel wings with your own hands if you have ever knitted napkins. You can use pine cones and pieces of felt (or fleece) to make a whole Christmas scene with a newborn baby Jesus in a cradle.

Decorative New Year's cones

With my own hands.

And here are samples of crafts with pine cones decorated on New Year. As decoration we use sprigs of pine needles from the Christmas tree, green leaves from indoor plants, or torn from a bouquet, small alder cones, pieces of moss, beads, balls, bells, bright ribbons and shiny paper.

Decorated pine cones that have been pre-painted (dipped into a glass with colored PVA glue) look very beautiful and festive. After painting and drying, the cone should be sprayed with hairspray - the color will become brighter and the cone will begin to shine like a glossy one. You can also quickly sprinkle glitter on a bump wet from polish (nail sprinkles are suitable).

You can buy small bird figurines at a craft store. They will look great on your top New Year's cones. Birds can make nests from Christmas tree needles and decorate them with red beads.

You can also decorate the cones themselves with beads from beads, or small pom-pom balls, inserting them between the scales and fixing them with hot glue.

And you can also put the cones together - into a snowflake star. We lay out six snowflakes on the table - butts together - tips apart. And glue them together with hot thermal glue from a gun. Cover the gluing area with a snowflake cut out of cardboard, spruce paws, beads or a small cone (the tip cut off from a large cone).

New Year's crafts

from SCALES of a cone.

Here's an interesting way to make crafts from pine cones for the New Year. If you take it and pull out the scales from the cone. From them you can (like from natural puzzles) assemble any pattern or three-dimensional shape.

For example, cut out a star from cardboard. And we lay out the scales on the glue along the contour of this star, gradually, row by row, getting closer to the middle. This craft will appeal to school-aged children - just remove the scales in advance.

You can simply lay out a flower made from cone scales on a round piece of cardboard. You also need to start from the EDGES of the cardboard circle, and row by row reach the middle of the flower. TO back side Glue on a flower, lace made of fabric or a snowflake made of paper. We get an elegant openwork craft for the New Year.

You can also decorate with scales from the pine cone. paper cone. This way we will get a Christmas tree craft made from natural cone material (as in the photo below).

Here's another interesting New Year's craft. Take milk cartons (small size). We paint them in white gouache and draw black stripes on top (we imitate the color of birch bark). We cut a round hole in one of the sides of the box. And we glue the top of the milk box (it is shaped like a house-roof) with cone scales using hot thermal glue from a gun. And we get this (photo below) New Year’s craft in the form of bird houses. Very beautiful and unusual.

You can also cover the snowman’s foam belly with scales - put a fur coat of cones on him. Beautiful craft for older children.

Cones on wreaths

and New Year's panels on the wall.

Very interesting decorative panels can be made from pine cones. If you make any shape from slats (for example, a star), then you can paste it over with pine cones - and you will get an original New Year’s craft that can be hung on the wall, leaned against the wall next to the tree. You can wrap this pine cone star in a garland and illuminate it with light bulbs.

Armed with a glue gun, you can assemble an openwork snowflake craft from pine cones. And also use it as a wall panel.

And if you have a small number of cones, you can do wall panel from another natural material, and use the cones as an additional decoration.

Christmas wreaths can also be made from pine cones. To do this, they can be painted in any color (dipped in glue-pva, tinted with gouache, or covered with spray paint).

We make a wreath based on a wooden or cardboard ring. We attach the cones to the base ring using glue.

New Year's compositions

With cones.

for table decoration.

Also, cones can become part of the New Year's composition decorating your festive table on the New Year. You can simply place the painted cones on the table between dishes and glasses. Or you can hang it from a chandelier using bright ribbons or hang it on the edge of a table (as in the photo below).

You can also make a serving boutonniere from the cones to decorate each guest’s plate.

It looks beautiful if you match the color of the pine cone with the same color of shiny sprinkles. Make the cones sparkle and sparkle like frosty patterns on the winter window.

You yourself can come up with various compositions with cones and other materials. Your fantasy of interesting “unnecessary things” found in your desk drawer can become a source of original exclusive DIY crafts made from pine cones.

Candlesticks with cones

With my own hands.

In the same way, you can include candles in your tabletop New Year's composition of pine cones. You can simply place candles in a beautiful dish and arrange pine cones around them, painted in shades close to the color of the candles.

If you are making a craft where all the cones are glued together, then when assembling such a glue cone pile, insert pieces of plastic tubes inside - you can insert candles into these places. When gluing, make sure that the candle stand tubes are glued strictly vertically - otherwise your candles will not stand in straight columns, but at random.

It could be easier. Place a glass on a cardboard circle. And around it on cardboard with glue attach pine cones, pine branches, berries, stars cut from birch bark and orange peel.

That is, any decorative method is suitable for creating a candlestick. Or we place a candle inside a ring made of pine cones and natural material. Or we glue (tie with a ribbon) the natural material to the body of the candle itself. Or we put a candle inside a tall glass and around it we insert pine cones and other tinsel directly into the glass (as in the third photo below).

Christmas trees-crafts

From pine cones.

And also yours New Year's compositions from cones can be decorated as tall PYRAMID TREES. Such Christmas trees can be made from ordinary cones, or from spray-painted gold ones. And you can decorate them with ribbons, felt flowers, small Christmas balls (also glue them with thermal glue).

These are the ideas I have for the New Year 2018. Let these works inspire you. And let your cones blossom with craft ideas in your skillful hands.

Happy New Year's creativity.

Happy New Year to the author of this article, Olga Klishevskaya.

Dressing up a New Year's beauty by making and hanging Christmas tree decorations from pine cones will not be difficult. After all, it is absolutely not necessary to hang only multi-colored balloons bought in the store. In fact, you can decorate your Christmas tree with almost anything you make yourself, using whatever you have on hand! You just need to play out your imagination.

What do we need

In order to make Christmas tree decorations from pine cones with our own hands, we need:

  • cones;
  • glue;
  • strong threads;
  • thick sewing needle or awl;
  • shiny paint (aerosol) or glitter;
  • stand;
  • a little cotton wool;
  • rags and solvent.

We collect cones in the forest, if this is not possible, then in parks, alleys, boulevards. In those places where you met spruce or pine trees.

Spruce trees do not grow everywhere. In some parts of the country, only pine trees grow wild. Their cones are also suitable for crafts.

Now, they need to be dried, especially if you collected them after rain or looked for them under the snow. Otherwise, the glue and paint will not adhere.

You need to choose reliable glue so that your crafts made from Christmas tree cones do not fall apart. It will be needed to connect the achenes to each other - we will assemble figures from them. Glue may also be required to fix glitter or cotton wool, which will act as snow. It looks very nice.

Threads are used to hang toys on branches. You need strong, thick threads so that the loop of the craft does not break. You will need a needle to pierce the pine cones so that you can create a secure loop. As for paints and glitter, there are two options:

  1. You are simply painting the pine cones.
  2. Completely cover the cone with glue, and then sprinkle glitter on it.

When working with glue and paints, follow safety standards. If you work indoors, it should be well ventilated and not have open flames. Protect your face with a bandage. Collect everything you need to make crafts and put it on the table in advance. Prepare a solvent if you need to scrub your hands off the paint, or use gloves.

A stand will be needed to facilitate the process of uniform painting or showering the pine cone with glitter. You can make it from a matchbox and a thin long nail.

Let's get to the fun work

Now we will make the simplest Christmas tree cone with our own hands. We take spruce seeds and clean them of debris so that later the paint adheres well and the glue does not fall off. It will be enough to carefully wipe each of them with a dry cloth. We choose a place where we will paint the cones. Cover the surface with newspapers.

It is best to paint with aerosol enamel (car cans). It’s more convenient, cheaper, and you don’t have to brush hard-to-reach places!

We string the sharp part of the cone onto the nail of our stand and begin to paint each cone from all sides. We wait until they dry. The drying time of the paint is always indicated on the label.

When all the cones are dry, remove them from the stand and take glue and cotton wool.
Coat the entire semicircular part with glue and cover with a small amount of cotton wool. You should wait a little longer until the glue dries.

Using a needle or awl, pierce the top through. If you prick with a needle, you can insert a thread into its eye in advance. We tie the thread and hide the knot in the hole. A simple Christmas tree decoration made from pine cones is ready!

Do not prick the lump, but the cotton wool that you have stuck on. The seed is very hard and difficult to pierce. Handle sharp things with extreme caution!

For beauty, you can also apply a few spots or dots of a different color or tie a bow from a ribbon. By the way, in addition to threads, a thin elastic band will do. The pine cone toy will be pressed to the branch, just like a real one. It’s as if a silver or golden cone grew on a magical Christmas tree.

Figures made from pine cones

You can not limit yourself to single Christmas tree cones, but collect whole figures of different shapes from them. From the inventory described above, everything remains unchanged, only a small amount of steel wire will be added. With its help we will connect the cones with each other.

The best choice is steel wire, which will play the role of a reinforcing material, 0.5 or 1 millimeter thick. Copper wire is too soft. The figurine will begin to deform under its own weight.

Cone star

And now we will make a Christmas tree toy from pine cones, but in the shape of a star. We will need fir cones (5 pieces) of the same size to create symmetry. First you need to create a base from the wire: bend it so that there are five rays (we will string them on them). We pierce the blunt ends of the cones. An awl, a nail or a thick needle. This is necessary to create holes into which the ends of the wire base will go, and they need to be coated with glue. We string the cones and start painting. After everything is dry, make a hole in one of the rays of the star and insert a thread there.

In addition, it is very easy to make the same star, but for the top of the Christmas tree. The manufacturing process is the same, you just need to select and install a small tube so that it fits onto the top branch of the tree. Most often, nozzles are made from the necks of elongated bottles. The nozzle needs to be installed between the rays of our star, in the middle. Then securely fasten.

It's best to paint it silver, red, metallic or gold - it looks great!

Snowflake

Everything is exactly the same, only the wire base must have six ends. We will plant the cones on them not with the blunt part, but with the sharp part. We paint or cover it with glitter, make a loop. You will get a very beautiful Christmas tree toy made from pine cones, as in the photo, in the form of a snowflake.

There are many design options, since even a complex snowflake can be assembled from large and small cones.

Garland

To make a garland you will need more seeds. Moreover, they can be of different sizes - it’s even more beautiful. Possibility of coloring various colors. After painting the pine cones, take long awl or a needle. There are two options for such crafts:

  • the cones hang end down, one after the other;
  • they follow each other like a chain (transverse arrangement).

You should not use a thread: there will be a lot of cones, the thread may break from such a load. It's better to take a fishing line.

What else can you think of?

In addition to the ideas presented, manufacturing options New Year's crafts from the seeds of spruce and pine trees, an infinite number. These include little men and figures of various animals. By the way, the symbol of 2018 is a dog. A dog figurine can also be made from cones, but only spruce cones are suitable here, since pine achenes have a different shape.

You will need cones of different sizes:

  • one large;
  • four slightly less;
  • two small ones.

The big bump is the body of the dog. It will hold the paws, tail and head. Four smaller cones are the paws, they should be the same length. One small bump will play the role of the head, and the other - the tail.

Take an awl and pierce the cones. Pour a little glue into the holes and insert matches there. Connect the cones together. Ears can be made from paper or small cones. Carefully glue them to the head. Any color is suitable for painting. Don't forget to draw or glue on the dog's nose, mouth and eyes. This is easily done using plasticine.

Crafts made from conifer seeds, hung on a Christmas tree, burn very well due to the resin remaining inside. Glue, cotton wool and paint will only speed up the burning process. Never use sparklers or candles near the Christmas tree.

Kids love crafts made from pine cones and there are no limits to their imagination. So on the New Year tree there will appear a little penguin, funny little mice, a squirrel and a deer, a sleeping beauty, owlets, gnomes, and a Christmas wreath.

See also the video, a master class on DIY Christmas decorations made from pine cones:

If you are lucky enough to not only walk through a coniferous forest, but also bring back a few pine cones, then make beautiful New Year’s crafts out of them.

Making toys for the Christmas tree

From a pine cone you can make not only a New Year's toy for the tree, but also the tree itself, as in the photo. To do this, paint it in green and wait until it dries. Attach bows, beads and snowflakes, flowers cut from white lace to the miniature Christmas tree. Don't forget to make a stand for the New Year's tree.

If you show your imagination, you can create creative crafts from pine cones in the form of squirrels, deer and birds, but you will have to make their heads and legs, and the pine cones will serve as a body.

If you just paint the cone or cover it with glue and sprinkle it with glitter, it will work out unusual decoration, to which all that remains is to attach a loop.

Candlesticks made from natural materials

The glow of holiday lights lifts your spirits, so during the holidays you want to see them as often as possible. Don't limit yourself to just garlands, make New Year's candlesticks from pine cones, and they will add brightness and coziness to the interior.

The easiest option is to decorate ready-made candlesticks, decorating them in the spirit of the holiday with pine cones, twigs and Christmas tree decorations.

Interesting candlesticks can be made from glass jars if you pour artificial snow (or ordinary salt) on the bottom. Glue a strip of lace to the top of the jar, tie a couple of cones sprinkled with “snow”.

Make candlesticks from flower beds, as in the photo, decorating them with artificial pine needles. For decoration, use small New Year's toys, cinnamon sticks, beads and pine cones.

Wreaths on the door

Currently they are popular and they are not difficult to make. The main thing is to prepare a reliable base in the form of a circle.
The frame base can be made from:

  • wires;
  • bendable wire clothes hanger;
  • thick cardboard;
  • buy a ready-made circle at a handicrafts store.

Decorative elements are attached to the base: cones, ribbons, bows, nuts, leaves, etc. To make the product look more impressive, some parts can be coated with gold, white paint imitating snow or sparkles.

Decor for table setting

Don’t forget that you should not only be elegant christmas tree, but also a festive table. Let cute pine cone gnomes hide between the plates or bright owls peek out. Make nice souvenirs for each participant in the feast: glue bright feathers to the pine cone and write the name of the person for whom the cutlery is intended.

The ideal option for creating New Year's toys are cones of spruce and pine trees. Their advantage is that they have different shapes, color, texture, perfectly emphasize the New Year's atmosphere, look elegant. Therefore, it won’t be difficult to figure out what the future toy will look like.

The whole family can work on creating toys, and this will bring children and parents closer together. An additional advantage would be to use the gifts of nature for decoration - all kinds of twigs, needles, acorns, leaves, etc. From all this you can make a whole collection of New Year's toys.

DIY New Year's toys

Everyone knows that decorating pine cones is a creative and inexpensive process. It does not require any special equipment, and all the material can be found in any park where pine trees grow.

It is best to use fallen cones, because those that are still growing on the trees remain juicy and may not dry out and become moldy. In addition, the collection process is very exciting and useful.

Preparing for work

For work we need:

  • Glue gun, scissors, wire cutters and pliers, paint brushes, varnishes, paints.
  • The raw materials themselves (cones, twigs, acorns, and so on).
  • Scraps of fabric, leather (natural and artificial can be used).
  • Buttons, beads, beads, satin ribbon - in general, everything that can be used for small decoration.

Before you start working, the cones need to be prepared. First, they need to be cleared of debris and soil, washed and dried if necessary (this is done away from heating appliances, in a well-ventilated area). If they turn out to be unripe and have not fully opened, they are placed in a low-heat oven with the door ajar. This is done so that moisture comes out of them and they open completely.

The blanks can be left as they are, or you can resort to partial or complete coloring. Can also be decorated with decorative elements such as glitter or artificial snow. Everything will depend on your imagination.

Cones in natural form they are beautiful in themselves, but if you need to make any color accent in the decor, you will have to resort to painting. Their structure allows them to perfectly absorb and retain paint. You can even paint the pine cones with gouache, but it is short-lived and may soon peel off and get dirty. Therefore, acrylic paints are best suited for decorating a toy.

So that you get the perfect New Year's toy, you must have the following components:

  • A set of acrylic paints, both in jars and tubes, so that you can apply individual strokes or create textures;
  • Aerosol paints (car enamels are also suitable for this - they apply beautifully, tightly and evenly and dry very well);
  • Aerosol paints in metallic shades. Their peculiarity lies in their expressive special effects.
  • Finishing varnish in aerosol packaging. For easier, faster and more even application.
  • Varnishes and dyes with the effect of a frosty coating, with sparkles, artificial snow and the like.

With their help you will decorate your cone in a very short time.

Since varnishes and paints have a very specific, pungent odor, work with them must be carried out in very well-ventilated areas or in outdoors. It is expected that several coats of application will be required. It must be taken into account that each layer must be dry. Work with painted material continues only if all layers are dry, otherwise the design or coating may be damaged.

So, let's figure out how you can make a simple Christmas tree decoration with your own hands..

Master class on Christmas tree decorations made from pine cones

The big advantage of this master class is that it can be done by the whole family and it will be an exciting event for all its members. Be sure to involve your children, because creating crafts is very useful and interesting activity. It develops hand motor skills, improves imagination, and teaches accuracy.

In order to make toys for the Christmas tree from pine cones with our own hands, we will need:

  • Cones of different sizes;
  • Glue "Moment";
  • Small size beads, any color;
  • Gouache, brushes;
  • Wire and satin ribbon.

We paint the cones green and wait for them to dry. Using a thin brush and white paint, we imitate snow along the edges of the cone. Using glue, glue the beads or cover the scales with glitter. We got miniature decorative Christmas trees covered with snow. We make a loop from a piece of wire and glue it to the top of the pine cone. The wire can be wrapped satin ribbon or rain.

New Year's ball

Surely, when you were in the club, everyone saw a large luminous ball that rotates under the ceiling. But you can make a similar ball with your own hands from pine cones for an atmospheric party on New Year’s Eve.

For this we need:

  1. Balloon;
  2. Toilet paper;
  3. PVA glue;
  4. Brown paint;
  5. Lots of bumps;
  6. Ribbon.

You can, of course, buy a ball blank at a specialized craft store, but you can also make it yourself. On the pout balloon the right size wind up toilet paper, soaked in a mixture of water and PVA glue (2 to 1). We give it a day to dry. Then we paint it in brown and wait again until the paint dries. You need to make sure that everything is well painted and gray the paper will not show through between the cones. Avoiding large indents, glue them one at a time.

To make the ball look festive, you can paint it over with sparkles or wrap it in a garland. We hang it from the ceiling or attach it to a chandelier.

New Year's gnomes

If you wish, you can make absolutely any toy from pine cones, for example, gnomes, which kids really like, especially since it is not at all difficult. A fir cone is used as the gnome's body, and it is best to leave it in in kind and do not paint with anything.

In order to make the head of the figurine, use a plastic or foam ball. Using a marker or paints, you can draw his face. The arms and legs are made of wire, which is then covered with fabric. Clothes can be sewn by hand or sewing machine, and make shoes from leather or thick felt. If you also use your imagination, you can make girl gnomes with funny braids from threads.
